- This monster, as well as "Number 13: Cain's Devil", are based on the Biblical story of Cain and Abel, the first and second sons of Adam and Eve. According to Genesis 4:1-8, Cain committed the first murder by killing Abel.
- The opposite position of the Numbers further allude to this.
- The reference this card makes to Abel takes on additional meaning in the context of this card's debut in the manga. This monster appeared out of Shark's extra deck after Kaito Tenjo reduced his Life points to below half- in short, Shark played the role of Abel when he was "killed" by Kaito (Cain) during the duel.
