- This monster's name is a reference to the Mars Pathfinder mission, though the machine in question is actually based on Sojourner, the Pathfinder probe, instead of Pathfinder proper.
- Coincidentally, the Curiosity rover landed on Mars August 6th, 2012, which is within 3 weeks of this card's OCG release in Abyss Rising. The card's art also bears resemblance to the design of the Curiosity rover in its distinct size and bulk in comparison to previous rovers.
- This card appears in the artwork of "Tannhauser Gate".
- This card has a Spell counterpart: "Terraforming".
