Forum:Monsters Effects and equip cards?

So say I'm using Koa'ki Meiru War Arms, and I equip Fulhelmknight. Since Fulhelm specifies that it be on the field, would it still get it's effect, even though it's equiped? — This unsigned comment was made by 69.62.238.116 (talk • contribs) 04:31, March 19, 2010

I don't really understand the mechanics of monsters being turned equip but I do know that you can't use ignition effects if the monster is now an equip card. "Jinzo's" effect is a continuous effect and it states "while face-up in the field" so its effect can be applied. Just wait for Deus Ex Machina or ATEMVEGETA response for that matter. --SilentHero26 05:27, March 19, 2010 (UTC)

why should jinzos effect work while he's equipped? equipped monsters loose their effects (or gain some if stated (unions)) and that was and is always the case, no matter what type of effect it is (quick/trigger/ignition/continous). E.G. Harpy Ladie 1's effect no longer applies to the field if equipped and it is also continous, so really no difference to jinzo. -dest- 11:40, March 19, 2010 (UTC)

SilentHero26 and -dest- are correct. A monster that is treated as an Equip Spell Card do not have its effects, unless its effect reads otherwise, like Union monsters, Armory Arm, ect! So, Jinzo's effect is not applied and XX-Saber Fulhelmknight's effect cannot be activated.

The reason Jinzo and friends work when equipped by Plasma is because their card texts specifically state "As long as this card is face-up on the field".

I do not believe, however, that Ignition Effects work. I think Ignition Effects only work when your monster is a monster. That is what is being debated right now, is it not?

Next time, I suggest you give a source to back up your claims. It doesn't matter if it's not really a solid source, but a source is a source. I provided one, and I would prefer to see your counter-argument. ~Xtasy
