The series focuses on pure beatdown tactics using primarily Galaxy Type Normal Monsters, overwhelming the opponent with boosted ATK and soft removals, and then retreating into the defensive during the opponent's turn to prepare for the next push. "Galactica Oblivion" has an equal amount of ATK and DEF, which eliminates the problem of being vulnerable to position changing, in exchange for not having any card effect. The [[Effect Monster]] members of the theme focus on providing support to make way for "Oblivion".
Outside of the theme, many Normal Monster and/or [[Level 7 Monster Cards|Level 7 monster]] support cards such as "[[Secret Order]]" and "[[Ship of Seven Treasures]]" are extremely useful to recur "Oblivion" and send excess copies from the hand to the Graveyard. When including additional common "Secret Order" and "Ship of Seven Treasures" targets, it is generally recommended to also choose Galaxy Type monsters (such as "[[Milky Wave Neo]]"), as choosing non-Galaxy Type monsters might clash with the effects of Galaxy support cards such as "[[Galactica Amnesia]]".
