- Konami's OCG Rulings: Previously Official OCG Rulings for Konami
1st Example[edit]
Adding the following to a page...
{{Previously Official Rulings |UDE's Rulings = * This card can remove from play multiple monsters at once, if they are Summoned simultaneously. * This card cannot be activated while "[[Imperial Iron Wall]]" is active. }}
... produces the following:
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[1] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - This card can remove from play multiple monsters at once, if they are Summoned simultaneously.
- This card cannot be activated while "Imperial Iron Wall" is active.
2nd Example[edit]
Adding the following to a page...
{{Previously Official Rulings |Old TCG Rulings = * The first sentence of the text is a condition, not an effect. * The effect to prevent a Synchro Monster from being destroyed by battle and the ATK and DEF reduction are part of the same effect resolution. They do not start a Chain. }}
... produces the following:
These TCG rulings were issued by Konami before the introduction of Problem-Solving Card Text. Since the introduction of the new text structure, individual card rulings for the TCG are no longer issued or actively maintained.[11] They have never been formally overturned as a whole and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules and do not contradict card text. |
- The first sentence of the text is a condition, not an effect.
- The effect to prevent a Synchro Monster from being destroyed by battle and the ATK and DEF reduction are part of the same effect resolution. They do not start a Chain.
3rd Example[edit]
Adding the following to a page...
{{Previously Official Rulings |Konami's OCG Rulings = *You can Normal Summon or Set this montser normally. *This monster cannot attack the turn it was Special Summoned. }}
... produces the following:
These OCG rulings were issued by Konami's old official website. They are not considered official to the OCG now since that website has been replaced by Konami with the current new website. They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. |
- You can Normal Summon or Set this monster normally.
- This monster cannot attack the turn it was Special Summoned.

Rules posted online will be limited to super-complicated and really weird situations. Imagine going down to a dozen pages of card rules, instead of a thousand. It could happen.
