Tribute

Tribute is usually a way of Voluntarily discarding a card from the field, to the Graveyard, often used to unlock a card effect.

• Exiled Force can be tributed immediately, to destroy one monster on the field.
• Fusion Material Monsters are Tributed for a Special Summon

Monsters used in a Tribute Summon are treated slightly differently, and some cards speciflcally prohibit some cards from being used as Tribute for a Tribute Summon.
