Blackwing Full armor master card ruling

If my opponent attacked with "Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon" and activated the effect to destroy 1 spell/trap card on the field, after resolving it am I able to put a counter on that monster with the effect of "Blackwing Full armor master"? The effect of "Blackwing Full Armor Master" is a continuous effect, meaning it constantly applies without needing to be activated. In this scenario, if "Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon" attacks, and at the end of the Damage Step your opponent activates its effect to destroy a Spell/Trap on the field, the effect of "Full Armor Master" will apply, and "Reactor Dragon" will gain a Wedge Counter. This will not start a chain.

Super Polymerzation On unaffected monsters
