A few of the characters from the original anime series appear in the show including Yugi, Yami Yugi, Joey, Tristan, Tea, Seto Kaiba, Mokuba, Grandpa Muto, Yami Marik, and Yami Bakura. A few other characters from the Toei anime have their names on a list (Season 4, Japanese version only), notably Miho Nosaka (Melody).
