Link Materials are monsters that are used for the Special Summon of a Link Monster. They are listed in the first line of a Link Monster's text.
A Link Monster cannot be Link Summoned to a zone a Link Monster points to by using that Link Monster as a Link Material, as the zone the Link Monster is to be Link Summoned to is no longer being pointed to. However, if multiple Link Monsters are pointing to the same zone, they can be used as Link Material, provided that at least one of them is still pointing to that zone.
