Episode 3 of the [[Yu-Gi-Oh! (Toei anime)|Toei anime]], {{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! (first series)|3}} is based on this chapter and the next one. A number of changes were made including:
* [[Yugi Mutou (Toei)|Yugi]] introduced his friends to ''[[Duel Monsters (Toei)|Duel Monsters]]'' at school, rather than at the [[Kame Game Store shop (mangaToei)|Kame Game Storegame shop]].
* [[Katsuya Jonouchi (Toei)|Jonouchi]] is not interested in ''Duel Monsters'' at first, claiming not to like childish games.
===NAS===
Episode 1 of the [[Yu-Gi-Oh! (anime)|NAS anime]], {{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh!|1}} is a mixture of this chapter and the [[Death-T]] arc. A number of changes were made including:
* [[Yugi Muto|Yugi]] and Jonouchi (called [[Joey Wheeler]] in the English version) played ''[[Duel Monsters]]'' at school, before visiting the [[Kame Game (manga)Store|game shop]].
* Jonouchi's monster that was beaten by "[[Blackland Fire Dragon (anime)|Blackland Fire Dragon]]" was changed to "[[Kagemusha of the Blue Flame (anime)|Kagemusha of the Blue Flame]]".
