I feel the need to mention that a lot of these were designed in the original manga, where you can only activate one Spell Caard, Set 1 Spell card, and Set 1 Trap Card per turn. Sanokal K-T (talk • contribs) 05:55, October 20, 2014 (UTC)
Add any you don't see here.
* Ragnarok: Why is this one brokenOP? Return from the Different Dimension. You activate Return and chain Ragnarok, and the latter wipes your opponent's field while the former allows you to bring the "cost" back. It's amazing.
* Negative Energy Generator: Buffing Armageddon Knight to 4200 ATK? No thank you.
* The Pillager: You shouldn't even have to ask about this one.
**I don't think so. It's summoning conditions are still quite terrible. =/--~InfinitySlayer 03:44, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
**After going through all the trouble of summoning this thing you can't really call it broken if you have to tribute it to destroy one card on the field. x.x Vampiremessiah51 06:38, March 24, 2010 (UTC)
***Sure. Future Fusion, Dragon mirror, Gale Dolga + Phantom of Chaos, ect. And shining can destroy multiple on enemy turn.
* Illusion Gate: destroy all your opponent's monsters and take one of theirs, all at the pesky cost of a soul. ^_^ Danny Lilithborne 03:49, November 28, 2009 (UTC)
* Scrap-Iron anything not Scarecrow: I just really hope I don't have to explain this. Danny Lilithborne 03:50, November 28, 2009 (UTC)
***** What I meant was, has it ever been shown without its negative effect in the manga/anime? Danny Lilithborne 01:58, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
****** I don't know, but I know that the card itself was shown to be yellow (which may or may not mean Normal Monster, such as the case of Flame Swordsman). Just from memory though, I don't think that we ever found out if it had an effect or not, outside of those two cases. I'm probably wrong though, as it has been a while since I've watched the original YGO anime.--GoldenSandslash15 04:42, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
* I can't believe I missed Life Force. --GoldenSandslash15 03:05, December 26, 2009 (UTC)
** "Life Force" is only fair in a manga/anime duel (ie. 4000 LP), IMO. Danny Lilithborne 03:54, December 25, 2009 (UTC)
*** Even then, add a bunch of Heal cards and you can't lose.--GoldenSandslash15 03:05, December 26, 2009 (UTC)

The anime and manga version of Copycat] is pretty broken to me.It can copy any card on the opponent's field or graveyard.Remember how it copied Life Force(vs Paradox Brothers) and Metalmorph(vs Bandit Keith)?Jason Ng 10:18, December 27, 2009 (UTC)
*** Oh, I see. Still, it can backfire very badly for you too. Just consider Dice Jar, where you can do up to 6000 damage in one shot, but have the same done back to you. Roll a 1 or 2 with this, and... yeah. --Gadjiltron 11:36, January 18, 2010 (UTC)

No, see I said one face down card is Infernity Burst and one in hand. That equals 8000, 4000 apiece. 71.201.153.162 01:43, February 17, 2010 (UTC)

Justice Bringer is pretty good. No Judgment Dragon, Dark Armed Dragon, Brionac, or anything.--Akiza Izayoi 02:25, February 23, 2010 (UTC)
*I think Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind is so broken, halving the ATK & DEF points without having it coming back ? yeah right!
*It's already real. This is for anime-exclusive cards. That said, Stronghold Guardian is potent to the point of broken. Imagine dropping 3 of them to pump up Stone Statue of the Aztecs. That's over 9000 damage coming your way. Otherwise, it can ensure that Gladiator Beasts turtling in Defense last the battle. --Gadjiltron 09:00, April 5, 2010 (UTC)
**Well, looks like Stronghold Guardian came into real life unedited after all, and considering what's going on right now, it's not broken anymore. Schrödinger's_Cat, Draw Paradox and many other cards that Dr. Eisenstein used. They were so confusing and weird.--Hide Head Turtle 12:55, April 5, 2010 (UTC)
Have a doubt about those cards.Card Trader is easily a better card than SC.115.135.252.167 13:37, April 7, 2010 (UTC)

Ah but think of Appropriate the wording on Draw Paradox and the cat pretty much mean you can draw until you get exactley what you need whenever you want during your opponent's turn. If they try to counter you then have a Reload set and it's all good.
Oh my little contributation to this would be Mirror of Duality, use in a counter fairy deck and get out Voltanis the Adjudicator focusing only on your opponent's backrow since this destroys all monsters regardless of position, I could be wrong about the timing for the summon but still being able to inflict up to 5000 as a surprise Raigeki isn't shabby (with Voltanis leaving your opponent at possibly 200 is silly). 18:45, October 12, 2011
* ^_^" ah that Voltanis thing is a completely stupid suggestion on my part lol, you'd have nothing to tribute so forget that but ah if only it worked like ceasefire, fine free trap Dark Hole is still good enough.
Darkness Seed
Plop it to the grave in any way, say with Foolish Burial or Armageddon Knight. It revives two turns later as an indestructible LP replenisher. Runer5h 00:33, May 19, 2010 (UTC)Runer5h

A bit too lazy to go searching for a broken card at the moment, but I'd like to offer some praise to Runer for dusting off this topic.--Akiza Izayoi 01:13, May 19, 2010 (UTC)

Sin Cyber End Dragon anyone? It acts just like the regular Cyber End, but has much easier summoning conditions. Plus, there's no risk of a dead draw since the regular Cyber End Dragon can just sit in the Extra Deck. Go ahead, give it the restrictions that Sin Blue Eyes and Red Eyes have, it's still a 4000 atk beatstick that can do piercing damage.
:Aaaand it's nerfed to a non-piercer in real life. --Gadjiltron (talk • contribs) 15:03, September 25, 2011 (UTC)

Legendary Dragons
I think we forgot about a few VERY broken cards.

* The Eye of Timaeus
* The Fang of Critias
* The Claw of Hermos
* Legend of Heart
* Legendary Knight Timaeus
* Legendary Knight Critias
* Legendary Knight Hermos --Akiza Izayoi 20:10, February 16, 2010 (UTC)

Well The Eye of Timaeus, The Fang of Critias, and The Claw of Hermos are just specific Polymerizations themselves. They require the Fusion Material to be on the field which actually makes them weaker then most fusion catalysts in their own right.

Legend of Heart is undoubtedly broken as it summons three monsters with 2800 ATK. By themselves The Eye of Timaeus allows you use any Spell card, which is broke, but was that ever even seen in the anime? Where does that even come from?

The Fang of Critias allows you to activate Trap Cards from your Graveyard when it battles. As long as you still have to meet activation conditions and pay costs of the trap cards that would be okay.

For Legendary Knight Hermos the effect to redirect attacks and multiply the ATK is the only thing broken about him.

For the fusions:

Amulet Dragon: Would require at least three cards to summon it (a means of getting Dark Magician onto the field, Dark Magician himself, and The Eye of Timaeus). Can get a very high ATK, but with few other effects would not be that useful. I think Five-Headed Dragon would still be better.

Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight: Also requires at least three cards to summon it. It's effect is like Ally of Justice Catastor only it doesn't care about attribute but requires a discard. It has higher ATK but isn't much better and is more difficult to summon. I don't think it's broken.

Doom Virus Dragon: Basically allows you to preform Crush Card Virus's effect the turn that it is set, but only affects the field. Not really that broken in my opinion. With Crush Card Virus Forbidden it would only be playable in Traditional Format, and even then Crush Card Virus is Limited.

Tyrant Burst Dragon: Not much was shown about this monster aside from summoning the following monster (note: the stats and effect on this Wiki's page seem to be either made up or from the following monster).

Blue-Eyes Tyrant Dragon: Difficult to summon requiring you to first play The Fang of Critias sending a Tyrant Wing to the Graveyard to fusion summon Tyrant Burst Dragon then sending it and a Blue-Eyes White Dragon you control to the Graveyard to summon it. Can hit the opponent for heavy damage as it can attack all of the opponent's monster. I personally think Blue-Eyes decks need this though. They have over shadowed by Five-Headed Dragon.

Mirror Force Dragon: It's effect was very vague in the anime. Going by this Wiki's interpretation it doesn't seem to bad. It would only do alot of damage if your opponent had alot of Attack Position monsters with low ATK. But how often does that happen? With Mirror Force Limited it would be difficult to summon.

Big Bang Dragon Blow: Definitely broken. Tribute one Dragon to nuke the opponent's field and Life Points. Then again Big Bang Blow was broken also.

Goddess Bow: Doubles the equipped monster's ATK. The other effects arn't that meaningful so it's basicly a Megamorph that requires two cards to pull off but without a downside. Not that broken.

Red-Eyes Black Dragon Sword: Takes at least three cards to play it and another to equip it to. Has the potential to boosts a Warrior-Type monster by a huge amount, but only if you can also special summon alot of Dragon-Types. Would be hard to play in the Meta so I don't think it would be that broken.

Rocket Hermos Cannon: Destroys all of your opponents monsters and inflicts damage to equal to their ATK to the opponent at the cost of not attacking that turn. Can kinda see how it might be overpowered.

Time Magic Hammer: Has a very vague effect. During your opponents next Standby Phase after it has been played it seems to remove from play all of your opponents monsters one by one. In each of your opponents following Standby Phases one of them returns to your opponents field in the same order they were removed. You can't take advantage of it's effect the turn you play it, and its usefulness would largely be decided by how the effects would work.

Revival Jam and Card of safe Return are insane. Infinite cards is ridiculous. Exodia Obliterate!!
The far most broken card is seal of orchlinos you can lose your soul O_o

*Resurrection Tribute deserves also a small mention here. It was only used randomly in the anime without too much focus on it but daaaamn. Easy activation requirement, can special summon a Nomi-monster from the graveyard like Hamon and destroys a monster on your opponent's side of the field? wow. <br>One question though, where does the whole deal with Climax Hour come from? It was never shown to summon anything ignoring the summoning condition and I don't think anything was ever mentioned Poseidome (talk • contribs) 16:59, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Apple of Frigg's anime effect was really crazy. Works like a Gorz on steroids since it can absorb damage from more than one attack, and generate an even bigger token as a result. What's more, you get all your LP back! It's fortunate that it got nerfed to dealing with only one attack when it entered real life. --Gadjiltron (talk • contribs) 01:48, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

Ooh, it revived itself somehow. But by this point in the anime, I've kinda lost track and forgotten several card effects... Anyway, while possibly not very broken but more towards quite potent, Submersible Carrier Aero Shark's anime effect is far, far superior to its real-life version, being a two-use Des Koala. --Gadjiltron (talk • contribs) 15:11, September 25, 2011 (UTC)

Harpie Lady Phoenix Formation: Considering how Harpie's swarm the field you just need to wait for your opponent to have a full field which with certain archetypes (Dark World comes to mind) shouldn't take long and can result in a OTK.

I wouldn't mind seeing a nerfed version of this and some of the other Harpie support cards Mai used in Dawn of the Duel (I believe Harpie's still don't have nearly as much support as they should have), but I can't see that happening anytime soon or ever.

Of course there's a few Dawn of the Duel cards I wouldn't mind seeing made real. Mostly the Timaeus related cards, but especially Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight. I just feel Dark Magician Girl has so much more potential that hasn't been met. Many of the Time Lords are pretty cheap. Namely Michion, the Time Lord, Gabrion, the Time Lord, and Sandaion, the Time Lord. *The anime Energy Drain is pretty broken. It is a total +1 if used right. And it being a Quick-Play spell only makes it better. Royal Decree has nothing on this guy. Even with the normal summon, I think Sandaion, the Time Lord is extremely broken. That's 2 tributes for a 4000 ATK pointer that inflicts 4000 damage after battle. 75.25.42.215 (talk) 22:48, April 8, 2012 (UTC)
