When two or more users are editing the same page simultaneously then the one who presses the "save" button first is the one who gets to leave his message. The second one is forced to adjust his message to the new text. I think that's what hapenned here; since I edited my message twice then your edit was blocked. The other user sees it and prepares to reply back. However, while he is editing the page, I notice an error in my message and make a quick edit in order to correct it. Now the other user's edit cannot get through because the text he was working on was changed. I'm not sure that applies to all cases but it sure does at Talk Pages.
