'''Send''' refers to the act of moving a card from [[Playing Field|field]], [[hand]], [[Main Deck|Main]] or [[Extra Deck]] to the [[Graveyard]].

Cards send can be sent to the Graveyard when performing a [[Synchro Summon]], or '''''as a result''''' of [[Tributing]], [[destroy]]ing, [[discard]]ing and [[detach]]ing. They can also be send sent to the Graveyard as a [[cost]] or by an [[effect]] (that uses this term).

However, notice note that 'sent' cards from your hand '''''are not''''' automatically classed as 'discarded'. The same goes in 'Tribute', 'destroy' and 'detach'.

Proper knowledge of the difference between 'Sent'send, 'Tribute', 'Destroyed'destroy, 'Discarded' discard and 'Detach' detach could mean the difference between a win and a loss in playing the game. For example, "[[The Fabled Cerburrel]]" activate activates its effect when 'discarded' to the Graveyard by "[[Card Destruction]]" '''''but not''''' when 'send' sent to the Graveyard by "[[Hand Destruction]]". Another example is the effect of "[[Dark End Dragon]]". Because its effect 'sends' monster to the Graveyard, it '''''cannot''''' be [[chain]]ed to by the effects of "[[Stardust Dragon]]", "[[My Body as a Shield]]", or "[[Destruction Jammer]]" because it '''''does not''''' 'destroy' the monster. Yet another example is why the effects of "[[Sangan]]" and "[[Dandylion]]" activate when they are [[Tribute]]d. Their card texts state 'When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard...', therefore they '''''do not have''''' to be 'destroyed' unlike cards such as "[[Giant Rat]]" and "[[Shining Angel]]".
