'''Pseudo-Flip Effects''' are similiar to [[FlipMonster Effects|Flip Effects]] Effects, however, they just state they are activated when the card is "flipped [[face-up]]", therefore they wouldn't be negated [[negate]]d by card effects that [[negate]] [[Flip]] effects (like "[[Ceasefire]]", "[[The Spell Absorbing Life]]", or "[[Evil Hero Dark Gaia]]") for example. Recently, they have all but replaced Flip Effect Monsters, with only a few true flip effect Flip Effect monsters released.

Examples of [[Monster Cards|monsters]] with such effects are "[[Tsukuyomi]]", "[[Dark Dust Spirit]]", "[[Nightmare Penguin]]", and "[[Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo]]".
