The currently revealed Genryu-Type monsters is a new monster type that debuted in ''[[The Duelist AdventAlliance]]''. They resemble [[Dragon]]-Type monsters, but unlike Dragons, Genryu monsters seem to take more of a spiritual, mythical and phantasmal look. Currently all of them, except "[[Metaphized Armed Dragon]]", are part of the "[[Cosmic Dragon]]" archetype, which seems to be based on Chinese dragons and/or other animals within the lore of China such as tigers (some may be a mix of the two), resembling "[[Tiger Dragon]]" and "[[Orient Dragon]]" (which are listed as normal [[Dragon]]s). "[[Metaphization]]", the type's first generic support card, hints that there is a relationship between the [[Dragon]] Type and the Genryu Type.
