As per the recent RfA nomination, I am pleased to inform you that your nomination has been successful. Your user privileges have been raised to SysOp as a result.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 23:47, July 6, 2014 (UTC)
hello their i was wondering can we talk please
:Just to double check to avoid any further issues, do you see any inadequacies in the way I explained how to Link Summon, as seen on the Link Summon article? (Lucafriz (talk • contribs) 03:54, June 9, 2017 (UTC))
::I don't care whether you come to me or not early. If there have been a number of reverts, you should be either discussing it on the article's talk page (personally I prefer this) or the talk page of the user who you are having a disagreement with. It's good that you're trying to talk to Lightning Laxus now, but that should have been done much earlier. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 04:46, June 9, 2017 (UTC)
:::Well, frankly, he hasn't responded to me, which in my view doesn't quite bode well for how a hypothetical discussion might have worked out. But that's being overly theoretical. I suppose Lightning Laxuz could have worded some of his criticism more civilly, but it's water under the bridge to me now, and it's never in my nature to let that sort of thing bother me. In any case, I have no issues with how you worded the Link Summon explanation for now (maybe I might some way to improve the syntax should I look at it more closely at a later time). Anyway, could you look at my edits to the Xyz Evolution article? == Italian images ==

Hey Snorlax, avoid using Cardgame Club for Italian card images. In addition to having that horrible watermark, they are using unofficial proxies for some images (toggle between these two images). --Golden Key (talk • contribs) 23:44, August 26, 2017 (UTC)
:Ah okay, I'll remember not to trust them then. == Toon Summoned Skull ==

You sure about that? Cause the other three Toons to receive that ruling all had their effects changed to reflect this, see Japanese (translated): Toon Mermaid Chimera-gui (talk • contribs) 16:52, September 29, 2017 (UTC)
:I'm aware, I added the "Japanese (translated)" lore to those pages. The difference is that "Toon Summoned Skull" hasn't been reprinted in Japanese since the ruling changing all of their effects was issued, so its card text currently matches the TCG. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 16:53, September 29, 2017 (UTC)

Card Trivia: Gate Deeg and Phantom Dewan
* I saw your summady edit at "Card Trivia: Gate Deeg" and i presume you also saw the one of Phantom Dewan. I said that google translator is not a reliable source, but, in that case, whay would be considered? Also, about making a point, you meant to say to related the translated word with the artwork of the monsters, right?

--OnePiece (talk • contribs) 18:41, October 23, 2017 (UTC)
:There's no point saying "This part of this card's name means X in Y language" unless you have reason to believe it was intentional. The word or language should have some connection to the card. "Mass" in Dutch is seemingly completely unrelated to "Gate Deeg", so it's unlikely to be intentional. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 02:12, October 24, 2017 (UTC)

Regarding "later anime" article for "Infected Mail"
Wasn't it the system to create a new article if the card lore in Japanese is different from before?
I checked and saw that the lore of "Infected Mail" (VRAINS) is different from "Infected Mail" (Arc-V), that's why i created a new article.--Supratim1986 (talk • contribs) 14:27, November 8, 2017 (UTC)
:We only create a new page if the effect is different. If the Japanese lore only differs in wording but not function, we keep it on the same page. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 14:28, November 8, 2017 (UTC)
::OK then. My Japanese isn't that great, so didn't understand that the function was same, only noticed that the lore was different.--Supratim1986 (talk • contribs) 14:31, November 8, 2017 (UTC)

Poison Draw Frog
How should the difference be presented, usually I’d think just mentioning it on the rulings page, but I Duel Links it is written in that Way in the Mist Frog Deck used in the early levels of the the DD water tower. Regards, GoldenDragonRider (talk • contribs) 01:33, November 30, 2017 (UTC)
:I noticed it used that lore in Duel Links too. For other video games, it's possible to specify the card's lore in that video game. The template isn't set up for Duel Links though. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 06:57, November 30, 2017 (UTC)

Listen To Me Please
To me, a Legendary Duelist must be an unlockable character. Strings is debatable, but I know for a fact we'll never play as Rare Hunters or Mind-Controlled Joey. Chomper4 (talk • contribs) 14:25, January 2, 2018 (UTC)
:Okay, here's the problem: that's not what Legendary Duelist means. We already make a distinction between playable and non-playable Legendary Duelists, so there's no need to invent a new category when the game already makes clear via missions that Rare Hunters, Strings, and Mind-Controlled Joey are Legendary Duelists, just like Espa Roba and Jesse Anderson. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 09:18, January 3, 2018 (UTC)
::To me, I see them as pseudo-legendary duelists, because, one, they don't speak, and two, they don't look to be Unlockable, just accept me making that category. And honestly, do you really believe Rare Hunters, Mind-Controlled Joey, and Strings will become playable? Chomper4 (talk • contribs) 19:47, January 6, 2018 (UTC)
:::But there is no in game term called 'pseudo-Legendary Duelist', and as SnorlaxMonster said, they count as Legendary Duelists for missions. We avoid making up categories whenever possible. Also, using "And honestly, do you really believe", it shows you are trying to convince someone based on emotion and/or opinion, neither are relevant maintianing a wiki that focuses on providing factual, verifiable and evidence-based information. GoldenDragonRider (talk • contribs) 23:16, January 6, 2018 (UTC)
::::I do not believe they are likely to ever become playable. (We have no evidence that Espa Roba will become playable either.) Legendary Duelist does not mean what you want it to mean; the term you're looking for is "playable character". All playable characters are Legendary Duelists, but not all Legendary Duelists are playable characters. Calling them "pseudo-Legendary Duelist" is incorrect, because we know that they are Legendary Duelists. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 23:21, January 6, 2018 (UTC)
:::::But we know that Espa Roba will be available to duel in the future as he has vocal lines. Same goes for Jesse Anderson. Can I put down that voiceless characters will likely not be Unlockable? Chomper4 (talk • contribs) 15:22, January 7, 2018 (UTC)
::::::Espa Roba being unlockable in the future is nothing more than speculation. (I happen to think it's a good guess, but it's speculation regardless.) As far as we know, Espa Roba and Mind-Controlled Joey will both never become playable. Having a note about the non-voiced characters specifically implies that we have reason to believe that the non-playable voiced Legendary Duelists will be released in the future, when that's not true (except for Jesse). And that's not getting into the fact that Mind-Controlled Joey technically is voiced (when he takes damage or loses). --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 12:19, January 8, 2018 (UTC)
:::::::Espa Roba is voiced. Strings and the Rare Hunters are not. Chomper4 (talk • contribs) 13:24, January 8, 2018 (UTC)
::::::::That makes no difference. None of them have been confirmed to be made playable later, and any claims to the contrary are merely speculation. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 13:28, January 8, 2018 (UTC)
:::::::::Are you saying that voiceless legendary duelists have a chance of being unlocked? I wouldn't made but it would make no sense. Chomper4 (talk • contribs) 13:59, January 8, 2018 (UTC)
::::::::::Are you reading what SnorlaxMonster is saying, or just being argumentative? What SnorlaxMonster is saying is "Until an official announcement is made that a character will be unlockable, we don't claim it - we avoid making assumptions here." Speculations are fine and healthy, but until they are confirmed (such as an in game announcement, magazine info, yu-gi-oh.jp, etc.), we don't claim it here. == Mirror Force Dragon's Quick/Trigger Effect ==

This is debatable, but I propose we list it as a Quick Effect. If it were a Trigger Effect, then the second part of its effect would always miss the timing, making it unusable in every possible scenario. Some ruling experts agree that it's a Quick Effect in the TCG too because of this redundancy. MadRest (talk • contribs) 14:41, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
:Can you bring this up on Mirror Force Dragon's talk page? I'd like to invite some other people to weigh in. I'm still leaning towards listing it as a Trigger Effect (since it was just reprinted, and now all Quick Effects specifically say "Quick Effect", but it doesn't). However, you are right that we should be able to infer from the fact that it needs to chain to an effect activation that it should be a Quick Effect (I made a similar point regarding the "{[Reactor]]" monsters and their illogical UDE rulings that their effects are Trigger Effects). --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 12:01, 19 March 2018 (UTC)

Spiritualism's Japanese text
Spiritualism is an older card that hasn't been reprinted for a while in Japanese. Based on this page (https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Target), it actually does use the term formerly used for targeting in the OCG: 選択. MadRest (talk • contribs) 11:07, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
:Oh, you're right, I overlooked that text somehow. Yeah, the translated text should be restored then. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 11:26, 28 March 2018 (UTC)

Anime Card Images
Why exactly is the non-card image preferred to be the main image? The artwork is the closest we have to how the actual card looks. This is the first time I'm hearing about this, too; I don't think the image policy mentions anything about this. Lots of cards with an official artwork follow this pattern, as well. MadRest (talk • contribs) 01:17, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
:Compare the list of anime cards that use artwork as their main image when they also have a non-card image

:With the list of anime cards that use a non-card image as their main image when they also have artwork

:As you can see, the policy is to prefer non-card images over artwork (even though it's not written down). Most of the examples on the first list are changes you made recently.
:The reason this would be preferred is that the artwork usually never actually shows up in the anime unless the card does too, so the non-card image is a better representation of the card's anime appearance. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 06:14, 2 September 2018 (UTC)

::I don't think that's "policy." The users were just adding the official artworks separately since yugioh.com came out really late, and the main image's parameter was already filled; I guess they weren't bothered to replace it and copy it into a new parameter. It makes far more sense for the official artworks to be the main image, but I'll ask on the Discord about everyone else's opinion. There is definitely no policy in place about this, though. == Copies name / Changes name ==

Hi. The difference between those categories is:
* Changes own name (field/GY/hand) = the card changes its own name to the one printed on its text (like "Harpie Queen").
* Copies name = the card changes its own name, or the name of another card, to the one of a card that the player targets ("Neo-Spacian Dark Panther"), declares a name ("Ancient Gear Gadget"), etc, as long they don't mention any card name in their text.
--Missign0 (talk • contribs) 06:00, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
:Ah, I see what you were doing. I'm not sure why you thought that's what the categories meant, but that's incorrect.
* Copies name = Changes a card's name to match the name of another card
* Changes own name = Changes the name of the card itself
* Changes card names = Changes the name of another card
* Treated as alternate name = Allows a card's name to be treated as a different name for some game mechanic or effect
:"Copies name" should never be used on its own, because what is done with the name can vary (is it changing its own name, another card's, or just treating a card's name as a different name under some circumstances). --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 06:05, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
