ZEXAL|89|ref}}</ref> is a being species of beings originating from the [[Barian World]], a high-energy world in the ''[[Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL]]'' anime. Most of them were once human, but they all have been reincarnated as Barians when they died. The majority of those lived in the [[United Lands of the Poseidon Ocean]] before their deaths, hence why [[Reginald Kastle|Nash]] was reborn as their leader. An elite group of Barians are the [[Seven Barian Emperors]] is . The [[Fearsome Four of the Dark Dueling World]] are also an enforcer group of Barians. Since [[Barian World]] was originally part of [[Astral World]] before the power of [[Chaos (power)|Chaos]] was banished from it, a group made up small portion of the Barianswere originally denizens from Astral World. The only known Barian to fit in this category is [[Don Thousand]].

===Appearance & Physiologyand physiology===While in the Barian World, Barians appear humanoid, though they tend to conceal themselves in cloaks.<ref name="ep74">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|74|ref}}</ref>

One Barian, [[Vector]], has also exhibited the ability to take on an energy form while on Earth, which resembles a winged, red version of [[Astral]].<ref name="ep71">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|71|ref}}</ref>

Furthermore, all of them have what seem to be crystals and/or armored-like plates on their bodies, such as MizaelMizar's face resembling a mask, GilagGirag's face resembling a helmet, and Durbe Dumon having gems on his body. Also unlike humans, they seem to lack certain organs such as mouth or nose, or perhaps those organs are otherwise not seen(the only exception being Don Thousand, due to being from Astral World); despite this, their senses appear unhampered, as is their ability to speak. In the English dub, the Barians in their Barian forms have an echo effect in their voices when they speak. They also have crystals for heartsand as seen with Mizar, they seemingly have the ability to survive in space. <ref name="ep133">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|133|ref}}</ref> They also cannot maintain their Barian forms on Earth without the use of a [[Sphere Field]], with the exception of [[Number ruins |Number ruins]].

In contrast, other Barians, such as those belonging to the [[Fearsome Four of the Dark Dueling World]], take on less humanoid forms depending on the different species based off of them, like a [[SemimaruErazor|cicada]], a [[KurageChironex|jellyfish]], a [[Scritch|mosquito]], and even a [[Mosquito NinjaMr. Heartland|mosquitofly]]. They can even exist survive in the real world low-energy enviornments such as Earth in their true forms. Vector says that these cards are of Barian origin when explaining to Yuma and Astral why they couldn't use ZEXAL, taking [[Number C39: Utopia Ray V|Utopia Ray V]] into account.<ref name="ep97">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! Each [[The Seven Barian Emperors|Emperor]] of the Barian World is are loosely named after one of the stars of the [[wikipedia:Big Dipper|Big Dipper]]in the Japanese version: [[Dumon|Durbe]] after Dubhe, [[AlitAlito]] after Alioth, [[MizaelMizar]] after Mizar, [[GilagGirag]] after Merak, [[Vector]] after Phecda, [[Reginald Kastle|Nasch]] after Benetnasch and [[Rio Kastle|Merag]] after Megrez.

The only major resemblance between both their Barian and human form is their hair, which only changes color.<ref name="ep80">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|80|ref}}</ref> As energy beings, they are have remarkable tolerance to pain, even in human form; [[GilagGirag]] was able to take a punch in the face from [[FumaFender]] without so much as a flinch.<ref name="ep74" /> [[Durbe]], however, can retain his true Barian form on Earth. <ref name="ep108">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|108|ref}}</ref> Barians can travel from the Barian World using [[Overlay Network]]s and can also utilize the ability on Earth, vanishing and reappearing on a whim.<ref name="ep80" /><ref name="ep82">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|82|ref}}</ref><ref name="ep85">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|85|ref}}</ref> [[Mizael]] showed the ability to fire energy balls for offensive purposes, though they do are not cause lasting damage.<ref name="ep82" /> These abilities can also be granted immune to humanspain and injury entirely. [[Vetrix]]Dumon, Erazor, who made a contract with BariansChironex, was able to produce [[Energy Ball|energy ball]]s and use the aforementioned networks to travel.<ref name="ep43">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! Alit's brainwashing on the other hand completely robs the victim Fearsome Four of free will and personality. Interestingly the Barians themselves are not immune to being brainwashed as seen when Gilag brainwashed Vector (though he could have been faking). In addition, if a Barian were to lose a Duel to a person using a "CXyz", they would vanish from existence, just as Astral would if he lost to a "Number".<ref name="ep81">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|81|ref}}</ref> ==History==The Barians have a feud with those of the [[Astral Dark Dueling World]] and seek to destroy it. ZEXAL|80108|ref}}</ref> For that reason, the Barians are bent on acquiring the "[[Number]]s" to find With the location partial merging of "[[Numeron Code]]" - the "God Card" that created the world Earth and can decide fate.<ref name="ep89" /> They cannot gather the "Numbers" themselvesBarian World, so the [[Seven Barian Emperors]] manipulated and exploited humans including [[Dr. Faker]] and [[Vetrix]] into doing so for them.<ref name="ep74" /> With the defeat of both human pawns, [[Vector]] and [[Durbe]] decided that they would have to intervene directly. To that end, he sent [[Gilag]] to Earth.<ref name="ep74"></ref>Later, after Gilag's failure, Durbe sends Alit to gather the "Numbers". On Earth, Barians can take human form, though they do not decide their appearance and are unable to wield "[[CXyz]]" monsters.<ref name="ep80" /> Following Gilag's failed attempts to get Yuma's "Numbers", back in the [[Barian World]] Durbe sends [[Alit]] to try to take the "[[Number]]s" from [[Yuma]].<ref name="ep80" /> [[File:Misael!.jpg|thumb|right|Mizael's arrival.]]After the constant failures of [[Gilag]] and [[Alit]], [[Durbe]] decides to sends [[Mizael]] to true forms on Earth, giving him three "[[Barian's Sphere Cube]]s" which lets Barians collect "Numbers" themselves. Mizael's arrival was by a giant energy ball crashing into a forest, causing a deep crater.<ref name="ep82">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|82|ref}}</ref> Mizael's attempt to defeat Yuma was interrupted by [[Kite Tenjo]], who took over the Duel. Mizael ended up cancelling the Duel when without the power presence of his "[[Number C107: Neo Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon]]" nearly destroyed the Barian ruins or a Sphere Field.<ref name="ep83">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! Gilag would then make another attemptBarians can travel from Barian World using [[Overlay Network]]s and can also utilize the ability on Earth, brainwashing vanishing and teleporting on a whole army of students, but Yuma was saved by Alit, who wished to defeat Yuma himselfwhim.<ref name="ep85ep80" /><ref name="ep82">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|8582|ref}}</ref> Alit deployed his Barian's Sphere Cube, but was ultimately defeated by the power of [[ZEXAL (power)|ZEXAL]].<ref name="ep86ep85">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|8685|ref}}</ref> He was later ambushed, prompting Gilag to take revenge, believing [[Vector|Rei ShingetsuMizar]] had been showed the one ability to ambush him. Gilag ended up Dueling "Rei" and Yuma at the same time in his own Sphere Fieldfire energy balls for offensive purposes, though they do not cause lasting damage.<ref name="ep87ep82">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|87|ref}}</ref> "Rei" revealed his identity as a [[Barian's Guardian]] and gave Yuma "These abilities can also be granted to humans. [[Rank-Up-Magic Limited Barian's ForceVetrix]]", allowing him who made a contract with the Barians, was able to defeat Gilag with "produce [[Number C39: Utopia Ray VEnergy Ball|energy ball]]"s and use the aforementioned networks to travel.<ref name="ep88ep43">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL|8843|ref}}</ref>

Vector, who was believed to be dead, eventually emerged on Earth and used "Rank-Up-Magic Barian's Force" to brainwash [[Umimi Habara]], who Dueled alongside her husband File:Barian_energy_inside_a_Chaos_Xyz.png|thumb|right|200px|"[[Tobio HabaraNumber C105: Battlin' Boxer Comet Cestus (anime)|Tobio]] against Yuma and [[Anna KaboomNumber C105: Battlin' Boxer Comet Cestus]].<ref name="ep92">{{episode|Yuhas winged-Gi-Oh! "CXyz" monsters originate from Barian World and are produced there as "weapons" to defeat the "[[Number]]" monsters.<ref name="ep74" /> While in human form, Barians cannot wield them, but they can use "Barian's Force" to brainwash humans into doing so for them.<ref name="ep80" /> The brainwashing effect seems to vary depending on who does the brainwashing. Girag's victims retain their personalities, but become devoted to serving Barian World, while Vector's victims are more like sleeper agents; retaining their original personalities until the brainwashing activates when they draw "Barian's Force", at which point they become ruthless and sadistic like Vector himself. Alito's brainwashing on the other hand completely robs the victim of free will and personality. Don Thousand's brainwashing has two levels; the first altering the victim's personality (and possibly their memories) to become more aggressive, while the second puts the victims completely under his control. Interestingly, the Barians themselves are not immune to being brainwashed as seen when Girag brainwashed Vector (though he could have been faking), and when Don Thousand brainwashed Girag and Alito. In addition, if a Barian were to lose a Duel to a person using a "CXyz", they would vanish from existence, just as Astral would if he lost to a "Number".<ref name="ep81">{{Clearepisode|Yu-Gi-Oh!
