OCG Rulings
- "Must be Special Summoned with "Dark Fusion"" is not treated as an effect.[1]
- "Evil HERO Inferno Wing" can only be Special Summoned by the effect of "Dark Fusion" or "Dark Calling". Even if it is sent to the Graveyard after being Special Summoned, it cannot be Special Summoned by the effect of "Monster Reborn".[1]
- The effect that inflicts piercing battle damage is a Continuous Effect.[1]
- The effect that inflicts damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster's original ATK or DEF is a Trigger Effect. (It does not target. It activates mandatorily at the end of the Damage Step in which "Evil HERO Inferno Wing" destroyed an opponent's monster by battle and sent it to the Graveyard.)[1]
Previously Official Rulings
These TCG rulings were issued by Upper Deck Entertainment and have since been declared unofficial by Konami.[2] They were previously considered official and can still be correct, as long as they follow the official gameplay rules, or unless Konami has issued a ruling that says otherwise. - The damage inflicted by “Evil Hero Inferno Wing” is determined when the destroyed monster is sent to the Graveyard, and due to this the damage inflicted will be based on the destroyed monsters original ATK or DEF.
- If the destroyed monster’s ATK and DEF are equal, the effect of “Evil Hero Inferno Wing” will still activate and it will inflict damage equal to either the ATK or DEF. (since both are equal, it does not matter which is selected).
