: "Meklord Astro Machinicle" and "Meklord Astro Dragon Asterisk". Cheesedude (talk • contribs) 17:32, February 22, 2011 (UTC)
== The only word that the "Meklord" archetype has in common throughout the OCG is "Kikou", not "Machine Emperors downgrade to Meklords ==". Unfortunately enough, "Machine" is a term used all over the OCG and TCG, not in fan translations, but in actual cards. Using "Machine" here for the OCG naming isn't just a fanlation matter, it's also something that could potentially confuse folks.
In my opion This is a legitimate concern, after all; saying "These are Machine cards" in terms of archetype name becomes an issue when we realize that there's already at least one OCG card already using the actual term "Machine", both on OCG and TCG ends, in two different ways. "Machine Assembly Line" carries one worldwide use of the term, and "Time Machine" carries the new update other - and they don't even agree on names Katakana. Never mind, of course, the various Kanji terms that're treated as "Machine" when they make the jump across the pond. Just because "Machine Emperor" was a common and useful fan translation for the "Kikoutei" does not make "Machine Emperors were Emperor" a horrible decisionlegitimate OCG name. First It makes it was a term of *convenience* - one we use to avoid having to call them "Kikoutei" and confuse the heck out of people. If we want to say "something is an official term", or otherwise say something is "in an OCG name", we need to use the actual official terms and actual OCG names. Fan translations, although convenient, do not count as official or otherwise adequate in any final sense. We need to remember that information we put up here on the wiki is ultimately *PROVISIONARY* in many regards. That much said: the choice to call the Kikou series "Machine Imperial", and the choice to call Kikoutei "Machine Emperors which I thought Emperor", based on what the Dub said was an awsome name for a choice that ultimately complicated matters of translating the Kikou cards. It showed how We can't control what the Dub does; but the wikia ultimately should have looked for a simpler way of handling the situation than just following the dub, one that wouldn't split one archetype (Kikou) amongst two different terms (Machine Emperor and Machine Emperors Imperial). When we make fan translations, we kind of owe it to our readers to make things understandable - and asking them to remember multiple archetypes instead of just one kind of goes against that. Very simply; any issues of whether or not someone could or couldn't find a card based on its Dub name would be best remedied by a page redirect and a note on the page listing the rulers dub name as an alternate name, when dub names force this sort of all machine type monsters problem onto us.EDavidR (talk • contribs) 22:59, March 26, 2011 (UTC) == Meklords in the metagame == Question: Have there been any winning tournament decks that use a meklord in Yu gi ohtheir main deck, or their side deck? I want to know how popular they are. == "Meklord Fortress" == Under what is "Meklord Fortress" classified? It's not under Meklord Emperor. I had to trawl through EXVC to find it. Should it be added to the archetype navbox? [[Special:Contributions/207.233.120. What was that? Meklords donIt wasn't even seem cool anymorein the latter category, but I went ahead and added it. Yet, It should appear in the archetype navboxes for both "Meklord" and "Meklord Emperor" monsters now. Do not add multiples or staples. FirstPlease keep cards alphabetized, it was with archetype monsters first.-->{| class="wikitable"|-! style="font-size: 135%;" align="center" |Card Name! style="font-size: 135%;" align="Machine Divine Emperor Machinecle Infinity Cubiccenter"|Use|-! colspan=2 |Monsters |-| Meklord Army of Granel| When Normal Summoned, halves the ATK of 1 opposing monster until the End Phase. It seemed longruns over almost anything once, but I liked its modest ATK gets itdestroyed quickly. Then it was changed to Gains 100 ATK for each other Meklord you control. A good target for "Mektimed Blast"Machine Divine Emperor Machinecle Infinity. Can be recycled with "Meklord Factory" or "Reboot" Getting better. Then it was changed to the best name ever thought |-| Meklord Army of Skiel| Low-ATK searcher. Gains 200 ATK for each other Meklord you control. When destroyed by battle, Special Summons "Army of Wisel", "Army of Granel", or another copy ofitself. Good for setting up the field for "Meklord Astro Mekanikle"Machine Imperial God Machinicle Infinity.Incompatible with "The Resolute Meklord Army" That was .|-| Meklord Army of Wisel| The basic beatstick of the best name archetype. Gains 100 ATK for that each other Meklord you control and gives them Piercing. A good target for "Army of Skiel".|-| Meklord Emperor Granel| Special Summoned when a monster you control is destroyed by a card effect. Able to equip 1 opposing Synchro Monster per turn, and can Special Summon an equipped monster. Starts at 4000 ATK/DEF (dependent on your Life Points) and gains the combined ATK of the monster(s) equipped. It is the only Meklord Emperor that does not prevent your other monsters from attacking. It is splashable in Scraps due to their self-destructive effects; furthermore, it couldn't be betteris Level 1 and EARTH, but then allowing it could to be worseused for the Naturia Synchros. Can be Special Summoned off of "Mektimed Blast", "Meklord Factory", or the end-of-turn effect of "Chaos Infinity".|-| Meklord Emperor Skiel| Special Summoned when a monster you control is destroyed by a card effect.Able to equip 1 opposing Synchro Monster per turn, and can sacrifice one equipped monster to allow "Skiel" to attack directly that turn. Base 2200 ATK/DEF, and gains the combined ATK of the monster(s) equipped. However, it prevents your other monsters from attacking. "Wisel" is! This generally superior.|-| Meklord Emperor Wisel| Special Summoned when a monster you control is destroyed by a card effect. Able to equip 1 opposing Synchro Monster per turn. Base 2500 ATK/DEF, and gains the combined ATK of the monster was changed (s) equipped. Can negate 1 Spell Card per turn, giving it a powerful form of control and self-protection. However, it prevents your other monsters from attacking.|-| Meklord Astro Mekanikle| Summoned by sending 3 Meklords from your hand to the Graveyard. Able to equip 1 opposing Synchro Monster per turn. Base 4000 ATK (like "Granel", but not dependent on your Life Points), and gains the combined ATK of the monster(s) equipped. Can shoot equipped Synchros at the opponent's Life Points. Generally not worth the perfect name cost.|-| Meklord Astro Dragon Asterisk| Hard toSummon, and doesn't have much ATK unless you're willing to swallow a -3. Does not steal Synchro Monsters--instead, it inflicts 1000 damage when one is Summoned. You can set the field up for it with "The Resolute Meklord Army". Note that unlike "Mekanikle" and the Meklord Emperors, this card is only Semi-Nomi.|-| Black Salvo| Revives "Army of Wisel" for a Level 7 Synchro Summon. Add in an Emperor for Level 8.|-| Spirit Reaper| Stalls a bit. Self-destructive effect brings out Meklord Emperors. Good follow-up attacker to "Army of Granel" or "Mektimed Blast".|-| Scrap Shark| High ATK for a Level 4 monster, but destroys itself when any effect is activated. You can Special Summon a Meklord Emperor when it self-destructs.|-| Scrap Breaker| You can Special Summon it if your opponent controls a monster, whereupon it destroys a "Scrap" monster you control, usually itself. Basically an opening for an Emperor.|-| Scrap Recycler| Returns 2 "Army of Granel" from the Graveyard to the Deck to draw 1 card. A target for "Scrap Breaker".|-| Playful Possum| Can destroy itself if your opponent has a monster with higher ATK. Creates an opening for an Emperor, and can revive itself later. Add to a "Salvo" for "Trishula".|-| Aurora Paragon| Prevents Special Summons, but is destroyed when a monster is Normal Summoned.Useful against Plants if you can protect it from itself with " Now By Order of the name doesnEmperor".|-| Witch of the Black Rose| Normal Summon this card on an empty field. Either you get a free draw or you create an opening for an Emperor. Good in conjunction with "Black Rose Dragon". Can be Tuned with a Meklord Army and an Emperor for "Trishula".|-| Dark Simorgh| With their recruiter ("Army of Skiel") being WIND and the usual recruit ("Army of Wisel") being DARK, this card is easily Summoned. Near-permanent control when combined with "Emperor Wisel".|-! colspan=2 |Extra Deck |-| Scrap Dragon| Creates openings for Emperors. Destroying "Meklord Fortress" with its effect makes a +1.|-| Black Rose Dragon| Creates openings for Emperors. Destroying "Meklord Fortress" with its effect cushions the loss. Easily Summoned with "Black Salvo" and "Army of Wisel".|-! colspan=2 |Spells |-| Meklord Fortress| Its protective effect is rarely useful (neither "Catastor" nor "Black Rose" targets, and "Brionac" will simply bounce it before bouncing your Meklord Emperor), but its second effect is handy, especially with "Geartown" and/or "Magical Hats".|-| Boon of the Meklord Emperor| Draw 2 cards if there are no monsters on either side of the field except 2 Meklords. You can't attack the turn you use this card. Theoretically, you could wipe the field with "Dark Hole", Special Summon an Emperor, and Normal Summon an Army, but this card is generally not viable. "Allure of Darkness" can be used instead in Wisel builds.|-| The Resolute Meklord Army| A one-way stall card. Your "Meklord Army" monsters aren't sound like Machinicle rules anything nowdestroyed by battle, but their effects are negated. Prepares the field for "Meklord Astro Dragon Asterisk". Your opponent will eventually resort to a card effect to get rid of this card or your monsters, which can create an opening for a Meklord Emperor. |-| Fortissimo the Mobile Fortress| Once per turn, Special Summon a "Meklord Army" monster from your hand. Good for powering up "Meklord Army of Wisel". I Even if you don't know where have 2 "Army of Wisel" in your hand, you can Summon "Army of Skiel" and ram it into a stronger monster for "Army of Wisel". Prepares the name, field for "Dragon Asterisk" came .|-| Reboot| A -1, but gets any Meklord from because I never heard the Graveyard to your hand. Works well for recycling "Army of Granel".|-| Limiter Removal| Doubles the ATK of all Meklords, then destroys them in the End Phase. End Phase destruction creates an opening for an Emperor. Can be used with "Mekanikle" or "Emperor Granel" for a OTK.|-| Geartown| Set this over "Meklord Fortress" to add a such ruler classMeklord Emperor to your hand, or Set "Meklord Fortress" over this to Special Summon "Ancient Gear Gadjiltron Dragon". There is an even more strange twist Both Spell Cards work with "Magical Hats" and "Scrap Dragon".|-| Level Limit - Area B| Does not block the MeklordsMeklord Emperors from attacking, as they are Level 1. "Meklord Emperor Wisel" can protect this card from "Mystical Space Typhoon" and "Heavy Storm".|-| Opti-Camouflage Armor| Allows an Emperor to attack directly. In Stick it on "Emperor Granel" to end the english version game in two turns.|-| Pride of yu gi oh 5D'S the Weak| If your hand is empty, this Continuous Spell Card allows you to draw 2 cards when your Emperor summoned destroys a monster by battle. Recommended over "Machine Boon of the Meklord Emperor".|-| Machina Armored Unit| A destroyed "Army of Granel" gives you a Gadget or Scrap Recycler. Alternately, a destroyed "Emperor Skiel " or "Emperor Wisel" gives you an "Army of Skiel" or "Army of Wisel", respectively.|-! colspan=2 |Traps |-| Chaos Infinity| Changes all monsters to Attack Position and Special Summons a Meklord from the Deck or Graveyard (its effect is negated). Special Summon an "Army of Skiel", he actually said ram it into another monster, and get its effect (it resolves in the Graveyard). Can be used to trigger Flip Effects. While it can be used in englisha non-Meklord Deck, if you cannot Summon a Meklord, your opponent is permitted to check your Deck to verify. For what it's worth, this card can revive a previously Summoned "Dragon Asterisk".|-| Mektimed Blast| Destroys 1 Meklord you control and 1 card your opponent controls. A -1, but is chainable and creates openings for Emperors.|-| Meklord Factory| When your Meklord is attacked, adds a Meklord from your Graveyard to your hand, and then destroys the attack target. Creates openings for Emperors. Not generally useful due to A) being a -1, and B) causing a Replay. Chaining "Mektimed Blast" reduces the sting, but you won't be able to Summon an Emperor.|-| Safe Zone| A Continuous Trap Card that keeps a monster from being destroyed by battle and from being targeted or destroyed by your opponent's effects. When it leaves the field, the monster explodes. Protects your monsters from "Dimensional Prison", "Book of Moon", "Mind Control", etc. Creates openings for Emperors or sets up for "Dragon Asterisk". He didn|-| Magical Hats| Doesn't say create openings for Emperors, but can destroy "Meklord Fortress" and/or "Geartown" to gain advantage and set the hand up for "Mekanikle".|-| Gravity Bind| Does not block the Meklord Emperors from attacking, as they are Level 1. "Meklord Emperor Wisel" can protect this card from "Mystical Space Typhoon" and "Heavy Storm".|-| Bone Temple Block| Both players Special Summon a Level 4 or lower monster from the opponent's Graveyard. The monsters are destroyed in any of his sentencesthe next turn's End Phase. So nowYour opponent typically gets a Meklord Army or "Black Salvo", name changing in Yu gi oh has been changed making this card quite one-sided. The End Phase effect also creates an opening for an Emperor.|-| By Order of the Emperor| Can be used to "cancel" the wrong thing at effects of "Army of Granel", "Black Salvo", and "Aurora Paragon", whereupon you draw 1 card. Can also negate the wrong timeeffects of pesky Monarchs and cards like "Debris Dragon", though your opponent draws instead. The only thing I can |} Got bored, your turn.-Resk ✩ (Talk):Added stuff. Why do now is pronounce the names Machine Emperors when I play them instead of enjoy this? Also, what it really saysis "Grael"?...Oh.
