(In the dub, Atem tells Yugi winsthat he may have defeated the Egyptian Gods, but defeating "Dark Magician" will be his true test, so Yamiand Mokuba comments that Yugi's spirit is finally able up against his most famous monster, suggesting they should have sold tickets to the Duel, while Yugi thinks that he never thought this day would come, but he needs a strategy to restwipe out "Dark Magician". It's the only way he can win this Duel and set the Pharaoh free.)

As the knives materialize alongside "Dark Magician", Marik*Summons notes that the Pharaoh keeps drawing exactly what he needs at the right time, while Ishizu believes the Pharaoh to be like a Dueling god now (1400/600in the dub, Ishizu thinks that the Pharaoh is controlling his Deck with his will). Atem explains that when "Dark Magician" is on his side of the field, "Thousand Knives" will destroy one monster Yugi controls, and he chooses Yugi's face-down monster. The "Thousand Knives" are blasted at the face-down monster, whose destroying it and revealing its specter - "Marshmallon". Yugi gasps his monster's name and Atem reminds Yugi that its effect lets won't activate if destroyed while face-down. Then he orders "Dark Magician" to attack "Curse of Dragon" with "Dark Magic Attack", destroying "Curse of Dragon" in a fiery explosion. Everyone gasps, Téa calling Yugi's name and Tristan pointing out to Joey that all of Yugi's monsters have been destroyed rather than giving him add the advantage, while Solomon to his hand from cheers his grandson on. Mokuba calls "big brother" and Kaiba*Sets gasps that Atem turned the Duel around in an instant, admitting that "Dark Magician" is dangerous. (In the dub, Tristan sarcastically asks Joey what happened to Yugi's big strategy, and Solomon insists Yugi will pull through, urging them to watch. Mokuba wonders how, and Kaiba admits it won't be easy, but there is a cardway out of this mess, though the only question is if Yugi has the cards and the guts to pull it off.)

<u>Turn 20: Yugi wins</u><br />Yugi Sets a monster. Yugi changes "Curse of Dragon" to Defense Position.
<u>Turn 21: Atem</u><br />
Atem draws "Thousand Knives". As Atem controls "Dark Magician", he activates the Magic Card "Thousand Knives", destroying one monster his opponent controls. He destroy Yugi's face-down "Marshmallon". "Dark Magician" attacks and destroys "Curse of Dragon".
<u>Turn 23: Atem</u><br />Atem draws "Dark Spear". Atem activates the Equip Magic Card "Dark Spear", equipping it to a "Dark Magician". He equips it to "Dark Magician". The effect of "Dark Spear" allows Atem to inflict the difference between the ATK of the equipped monster and the DEF of a Defense Position monster it attacks as battle damage to Yugi's Life Points. "Dark Magician" attacks "Blockman", but Yugi activates his Set Trap Card "Soul Shield", paying half his Life Points (Yugi: 800 → 400 LP) to negate the destruction of a monster by battle and end the Battle Phase. He negates the destruction of "Blockman". <u>Turn 24: Yugi</u><br />Yugi activates the Magic Card "Gold Sarcophagus", removing a card from his Deck from play face-down. If Atem activates or Summons a card of the same name, Yugi can negate the activation or Summon of that card by revealing the card he removed. He removes "Monster Reborn". Yugi activates the effect of "Blockman", Tributing it to Special Summon a number of "Block Tokens" in Defense Position equal to the number of turns that "Blockman" has been face-up on his side of the field, but they cannot declare an attack. "Blockman" has been face-up on Yugi's side of the field for two turns, so Yugi Special Summons two "Block Tokens" (1000/1500). Yugi Tributes his two "Block Tokens" to Tribute Summon "Gandora the Dragon of Destruction" (0/0) in Attack Position. Yugi activates the effect of "Gandora", paying half his Life Points (Yugi Muto: 400 → 200 LP) to remove all monsters on the field from play, but Atem activates his face-down Trap Card "Dark Illusion", making Yugi draw a card and preventing one "Dark Magician" he controls from being affected by monster effects or destroyed by battle until the End Phase. The effect of "Gandora" sends itself to the Graveyard. Yugi Sets two cards. <u>Turn 25: Atem</u><br />"Dark Magician" attacks Yugi directly, but as Atem's Spellcaster-Type monster attacked, Yugi activates his face-down Trap Card "Magician's Circle", allowing each player to Special Summon a Spellcaster-Type monster from their Deck. Yugi Special Summons "Silent Magician LV0" (1000/1000) in Attack Position and Atem Special Summons "Dark Magician Girl" (2000/1700) in Attack Position. A replay occurs, and "Dark Magician" attacks "Silent Magician LV0", but Yugi activates his face-down Quick-Play Magic Card "Spell Textbook", discarding all cards in his hand, shuffling his Deck, and drawing a card, and if it is a Magic Card, Yugi can activate it immediately. Yugi has no cards in his hand, so he shuffles his Deck and draws and activates the Magic Card "Card of Sanctity", making both players draw cards until they have six cards in their hand. Yugi draws six cards, and Atem draws five cards. The effect "Silent Magician LV0" activates as Atem drew a card, increasing its LV by one and its ATK by 500 for each card Atem drew ("Silent Magician LV0" → "Silent Magician LV5": 1000 → 3500/1000). As Atem controls two or more Spellcaster-Type monsters, he activates the Quick-Play Magic Card "Magicians Unite", treating two Spellcaster-Type monsters he controls as one monster with 3000 ATK. He chooses "Dark Magician" and "Dark Magician Girl". The attack continues and "Silent Magician LV5" destroys "Dark Magician" and "Dark Magician Girl" (Atem: 700 → 200 LP). Atem activates the Magic Card "Monster Reborn", selecting a monster in either player's Graveyard and Special Summoning it. He Special Summons "Slifer the Sky Dragon" from his Graveyard (X000/X000) in Attack Position. The effect of "Slifer" would increase its ATK and DEF by 1000 for each card in Atem's hand, and Atem has four cards in his hand ("Slifer the Sky Dragon": X000 → 4000/X000 → 4000), but Yugi activates the effect of "Gold Sarcophagus" as Atem activated a card with the same name as the card Yugi removed to activate it, revealing the "Monster Reborn" he removed to negate the activation of Atem's "Monster Reborn" and prevent "Slifer the Sky Dragon" from being Special Summoned. <u>Turn 26: Yugi</u><br />"Silent Magician LV5" attacks Atem directly (Atem: 200 → 0 LP). ==Featured cards==The following cards appeared in this episode.
