"Dragunity " (ドラグニティ Doraguniti) is an Archetypearchetype of WIND Dragon and Winged Beast monsters released in the Duel Terminal, revolving around equipping Level 3 or lower Dragon Tuner monsters and Synchro Summoning powerful monsters.==Lore==== Design ===== Appearance ===The Dragon "Dragunity" is a portmanteau all have armor which either covers most of the words Dragon and Unity. The artworks of the "Dragunity Knight" monsters in your generally showcase a "Dragunity" Winged Beast monster riding a mature/transformed version of a Dragon Tuner monster, which is implied by their Levels, that are a sum of the Levels of the corresponding pair of "Dragunities".Most of the Dragon Main Deck "Dragunity" Monsters are named after general types of pole weapon to your s, except "Winged BeastDragunity Arma Gram-", or in case of "Phalanx monsters in play (in the sense of " a formation performed with spears. Whereas the Synchro Monsters except for "Knight - Gormfaobhar-Types transforming into weapons" are named after specific spears in European and Indian mythology. By contrast, or the Winged-Beast "Dragunity" monsters "uniting" are all named after military or diplomatic ranks/titles or general terms of administration all used by the roman empire. "DragunityPhalanx" and " monster Dragunity Couse" are key cards to enable this strategy, thanks to their inherent ability to Special Summon themselves from the Graveyard. Because Spell & Trap Zones after being equipped through the effect of a Winged Beast "Once per turnDragunity" effect monster. The most basic combo consists of equipping them to "PhalanxDragunity Dux" or "Dragunity Senatus" in order to rapidly climb to the high-level Synchro Monster. "Dragunity Knight - Barcha" resets when it is sent to used the Graveyardmost, if you being able to equip as many "PhalanxDragunity" it can Special Summon itself again monsters from the Graveyard as possible to enable multiple Synchro Summons and you even Link Summons with multiple copies of Phalanx or Couse. If going second, a player can use "Dragunity Whirlwind", instantly granting a Synchro Summon without having to use a Level 8 Synchro Monster - effectively turning one card in your hand into a Level 8 monster from your Extra Deck (typically normal summon for "Dux" or "Senatus", while also setting up the Graveyard for later interactions with the tuner summoned by "Stardust DragonWhirlwind").
This combo only requires Contrary to their current state, the deck historically had a lack of boss monsters, relying on generic options like "DuxStardust Dragon" in your hand and , "PhalanxRed Dragon Archfiend" in your Graveyard, and it is incredibly simple to set up with the help of or "Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon Ravine"to grant field presence. With it, once per turn, you can discard a card A classic way to either add a combine "Dragunity" monster from your Deck monsters with some generic options is to your hand or send any DragonSynchro Summon "Dragunity Knight -Type monster from your Deck Gae Dearg", to use its effect to search and then discard "Mist Valley Baby Roc", which special summon itself directly after being discarded, enabling the Graveyard - essentially turning any card in your hand into either Synchro Summon of a relatively generic level 8 monster like the aforementioned ones. However, with the release of "DragunityKnight - Ascalon" version of and "Dragunity Knight - Areadbhair"Reinforcement of , the Army" or "Foolish Burial"deck gained their own boss cards with abilities that banish opponents' monsters, effective monster negation, which makes combos easyand also residual effects when they're destroyed.
However, the "DragunityKnight - Romulus" monsters have many alternate strategies. Even without Synchro Monsters, the archetype can hold its own in battle: and "Dragunity LegionnaireRemus" takes out tough monsters with its effect - you can send an equipped Dragon-Type monster to act as the searchers for the graveyard to destroy one of your opponentarchetype's face-up monsters. This is especially useful with spell and traps, most importantly "Dragunity AklysDragon Ravine", as when it is equipped and sent to the Graveyard, one card on main consistency engine of the field is destroyeddeck. As suchBesides searching for resources, each one of the main also has a second effect that provides ways for more Synchro Summons. The "Dragunity" combos is to Normal Summon Tuners also emphasize the use of "LegionnaireCards of Consonance"as an essential part of the deck, equip "Aklys", and send it to providing draw power while simultaneously setting up the Graveyard to destroy one your opponent's Face-up monsters and another one of his/her cards, in a devastating one-two punch that costs you nothingfor combo plays. HoweverLastly, this can be countered with "Enemy Controller"-since "Aklys" activates first (as Chain Link 2)Tempest, you can chain "Enemy Controller" and steal their monster (this works if you only have one more monster) to get it killed by "Phalanx" effect. This also works with the second effect Dragon Ruler of Storms"Dragunity Knight - Vajrayana", which can send a card equipped to itself is highly recommended to be teched into the Graveyard deck to double its own ATK until the end of the turn (which usually isn't used since search a "Stardust Dragon" is preferable). If you equip and then send "Aklys" to the Graveyard, you will end up with dump a 3800 ATK WIND monster that turn while destroying , preferably one of your opponentthe deck's cardscombo tuners. With the plentiful search and draw engines, allowing for big finishesthe "Dragunity" archetype has a very reliable and stable game plan.
"Dragunity Arma Leyvaten"Due to the synergy with Dragon, the new ace "Dragunity" monsterWinged Beast, comes and WIND monsters in Structure general, the Deck: Dragunity Legion. This monster can also be Special Summoned combined with ease from your hand or Graveyard by Banishing 1 Face-up monster you control equipped with a "Dragunitysplashable cards like " card. In addition, when this card is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned, you can select 1 DragonBlackwing -Type monster in your Graveyard other than "Dragunity Arma LeyvatenZephyros the Elite", and equip it to it as an Equip Card. If and when you equip "Phalanx" to "LeyvatenGaruda the Wind Spirit", you can Special Summon it to your field and using "PhalanxRed-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" and "LeyvatenHieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres" to Synchro Summon . They are also one of the few archetypes that can benefit from "Trident DragionWindwitch"support, as they are unaffected by the latter's WIND monster restriction. To make sure all the (All "LeyvatensDragunity" monsters are sent already WIND monsters). These series of cards are highly complementary to the deck as “Windwitch - Ice Bell” acts as essentially a one-card gateway to your Graveyard swiftly and efficiently, "Future FusionCrystal Wing Synchro Dragon" and , a powerful monster the "Dragon RavineDragunity" are recommendedarchetype already utilizes.
=The high-level "Dragunity" monsters function very differently from the other main deck monsters. "Dragunity Arma Mystletainn" is a combo extender, providing material that facilitates further Synchro Summons and even Xyz Summons, and with "Dragunity Knight - Luin", also unlocks the use of "Ultimaya Tzolkin". If "Romulus" or another Link monster is in the GY, "Mystletainn" can easily facilitate the summon and omni-negate effect of "Borreload Savage Dragon", by using itself with most likely "Phalanx". "Dragunity Arma Gram" is an extra weapon that is typically easy to summon after your initial combo plays, and can also aid link plays. Both Armas have synergy with "Dragunity Glow", (whose graveyard effect allows you to special summon a monster in the S/T zone equipped to a "Dragunity").===Recommended cards=========Monsters====={{Decklist|Dragunity

It can also protect your "Dragon Ravine" from any destruction effects. * "Mist Valley Falcon" : A decent attacker (2000 ATK), with abilities to return cards to reuse it. Perfect for reusing "Dragunity LegionnaireOubliette". * "Icarus Attack" : By Tributing a WingedCentur-Beast "Dragunity" monster you get to destroy 2 cards. * "Cards of ConsonanceIon True Awakening": This card can be very good in a "Dragunity" deck. It's a 2 for that sets up your combos. However, "Dragunity" decks don't use a lot of targets for this card and aren't as likely to actually draw them as in Dragon Draw Exodia, so "Cards of Consonance" isn't as useful as it is in other decks. * "Pot of AvariceMannadium Reframing": This deck sends monsters to the Graveyard very quickly thanks to its Synchro Summons, discards from "Cards of Consonance" and "Dragon Ravine", and plain destruction by battle. "Pot of Avarice" rewards the filling of the graveyard with two new cards, as well as a chance to get another use out of used "Duxes", "Darkspears" and/or "Legionnaires".|continuous traps =* "Terraforming": This card is the easiest way to search out "Dragon Ravine", so running two or three is recommended. This card can also serves as discard fodder for "Dragon Ravine"'s effect, so it will never be dead draw. * "Future Fusion": This card can fill the graveyard with 5 Dragon-Type "Dragunity" Tuner monsters (most notably "Dragunity Phalanx") and summon "Five-Headed DragonLegion" two turns later. However, the best "Dragunity" decks don't use more than four Dragon-Type Tuner monsters. * "Five-Headed Dragon: Combine with "Future Fusion" to fill Etude of the grave and have a massive monster two turns later. It may not stay on the field for a long time, but it will give you lots of access to quick "Dragunity" combos. * "T.G. Hyper Librarian: "Dragunity" decks can easily Synchro Summon level 5 Synchro Monsters with "Dragunity LegionnaireBranded". Afterward, you can do the standard double Synchro Summon with "Dux" and "Vajrayana", and you will draw two cards. * "Blackwing - Zephyros the Elite": Although it's not a "Dragunity" monster, it is useful for "Dragunity"-you can return a "Legionnaire" to your hand after using it's effect and Special Summon "Zephyros" or return a "Dux" to your hand after Special Summoning "Phalanx" and still get to Synchro Summon "Vajrayana" since "Zephyros" is a Winged Beast-Type monster.}}
* === Weaknesses ===Due to the reliance on "Dux", "Senatus", and the Tuner monsters to be in the Graveyard, hand traps like "Foolish BurialEffect Veiler": Dumping , "Blackwing - Zephyros Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit", "Called by the EliteGrave or any other cards you need like ", "Dragunity AklysD.D. Crow or ", as well as removal effects that trigger upon its Summon, such as cards like "Dragunity PhalanxBottomless Trap Hole ", can be effective ways to disrupt the strategy. The first weakness was addressed with the release of "Senatus" and "Divine Lance", that can give you more advantageequip "Dragunity" Tuners directly from the Deck.
==Weakness==Also, as with any Graveyard-reliant Deck, the strategy is vulnerable to effects like that of "Dimension Shifter", "Different Dimension Ground" or "Macro Cosmos", all of which can easily paralyze the Deck.
"Dragunities", despite their amazing speed and enormous consistency, still have some crucial weaknesses. The most common is Anti-Meta and Macro decks (which sequence of Summons also bring trouble makes them vulnerable to another today competitive decks such as "X-Sabers"Nibiru, "Legendary Six Samuraithe Primal Being" and many more). AlsoHowever, their heavy reliance on if the goal of the Field Spell Card turn is to Summon "Dragon RavineAreadbhair" makes them very weak against opponent who enjoys using Spell and Trap Card destruction effects, such as starting with "Mystical Space TyphoonVajrayana/Barcha", or "Dust Tornado", "Twister", "Ancient Gear Engineer", etc, and without "Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon Ravine", this Deck can't survive too long (much like "Gravekeeper's" with their the "Necrovalley"). Those destruction cards can also bring trouble for "Dragunity PhalanxWindwitch"engine, because they can its Synchro Summon will be chained to "Phalanx's" effect and destroy it before it can be Special Summoned, ruining most the fifth Summon of this deck's combos (except Leyvaten Rider build). Moreover "Bottomless Trap Hole", "Royal Oppression" and "Solemn Warning" can also stop "Dragunity Dux", "Dragunity Legionnaire", "Dragunity Knight - Vajrayana", and "Dragunity Arma Mystletainn" from hitting the fieldturn, thus suspending the deck's actions. "Effect Veiler" can also be annoying, since which makes it can negate "Dux's" and "Legionnaire's" effect. Also, "Necrovalley" are especially deadly, since it can be used to destroy "Dragon Ravine" easily while blocking any access a good way to protect the Graveyard, shutting down the entire deck. Lastly, "Chain Disappearance" will get rid of all of your "Phalanx", entirely shutting down the only effective way to get out strong monstersDeck against this specific threat.
== Trivia ==* Their archetype symbol is the green emerald for the Dragon monsters, and for the Winged Beast monsters is the green emerald surrounded by a gold outline of wings.* As with the "Blackwing" archetype, there is a heavy distinction between the Tuner monsters and the non-Tuner monsters in terms of appearance. Similar to "Blackwings", the non-Tuner monsters are all humanoids in bird outfits with mechanical-like wings, while the Tuner monsters are composed of small, armored dragons (whereas the "Blackwing" Tuner monsters are all small birds).* Their "rider and mount" style, as depicted in their "Dragunity Knight" forms, are also adopted by later archetypes, such as "Gusto" and "Ritual Beast" (albeit with different types and mechanics).Archseries navboxDuel Terminal
