"Dragunity" (ドラグニティ Doraguniti) is an archetype of WIND Dragon and Winged Beast monsters released in the Duel Terminal revolving around equipping Level 3 or lower Dragon Tuner monsters and Synchro Summoning powerful monsters.

Appearance
The Dragon "Dragunity" all have armor which either covers most of their body ("Dragunity Phalanx"), or have a piece of armor that resembles, and is named after, a weapon (i.e. "Dragunity Darkspear"), or wielding the weapons themselves (i.e. "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten").
Etymology
"Dragunity" is a portmanteau of "dragon" and "unity", referring to the underlying concept of uniting the humanoid warriors to the dragonic weapons to form powerful knights. The artworks of the "Dragunity Knight" monsters generally showcase a "Dragunity" Winged Beast monster riding a mature/transformed version of a Dragon Tuner monster, which is implied by their Levels, that are a sum of the Levels of the corresponding pair of "Dragunities".
Most of the Dragon Main Deck "Dragunity" Monsters are named after general types of pole weapons, except "Dragunity Arma Gram", or in case of "Dragunity Phalanx" a formation performed with spears. Whereas the Synchro Monsters except for "Dragunity Knight - Gormfaobhar" are named after specific spears in European and Indian mythology. By contrast, the Winged Beast "Dragunity" monsters are all named after military or diplomatic ranks/titles or general terms of administration all used by the roman empire. In consequence, monsters with higher Levels and stats have a corresponding higher rank or title in their names (eg. "Dragunity Primus Pilus" and "Dragunity Tribus").
The theme's first Link Monster, "Dragunity Knight - Romulus", is named after the founder and first king of Rome, whose twin brother inspired "Dragunity Remus".

Playing style
The main purpose of "Dragunity" Decks is to set up the Synchro Summons of their boss monsters, essentially 'Synchro Climbing' into them. "Dragunity Phalanx" and "Dragunity Couse" are key cards to enable this strategy, thanks to their inherent ability to Special Summon themselves from the Spell & Trap Zones after being equipped through the effect of a Winged Beast "Dragunity" monster. The most basic combo consists of equipping them to "Dragunity Dux" or "Dragunity Senatus" in order to rapidly climb to the high-level Synchro Monster. "Dragunity Knight - Barcha" is used the most, being able to equip as many "Dragunity" monsters from the Graveyard as possible to enable multiple Synchro Summons and even Link Summons with multiple copies of Phalanx or Couse. If going second, a player can use "Dragunity Whirlwind", instantly granting a Synchro Summon without having to use a normal summon for "Dux" or "Senatus", while also setting up the Graveyard for later interactions with the tuner summoned by "Whirlwind".
Contrary to their current state, the deck historically had a lack of boss monsters, relying on generic options like "Stardust Dragon"Dragunity, " (ドラグニティ- Doragunitï) is an archetype released in the Duel Terminal. The term Red Dragon Archfiend"Dragunityor " is a portmanteau of the words Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon and Unity" to grant field presence. Their effects mainly revolve around equipping any Level 3 or lower Dragon-Type monsters in your Graveyard A classic way to your Winged Beast-Type monsters in play (in the sense of the Dragon-Types transforming into weapons, or the Winged-Beast combine "Dragunity" monsters "uniting" with their Dragon some generic options is to Synchro Summon "steedsDragunity Knight - Gae Dearg" as , to use its effect to search and then discard "Dragunity KnightsMist Valley Baby Roc"). Because , which special summon itself directly after being discarded, enabling the Synchro Summon of their heavy focus on sending monsters to a relatively generic level 8 monster like the Spell & Trap Card Zonesaforementioned ones. However, with the release of "DragunityKnight - Ascalon" archetype is often compared to the and "Crystal BeastDragunity Knight - Areadbhair" , the deck gained their own boss cards with abilities that banish opponents' monsters, effective monster negation, and "Cyberdark" archetypes. They also utilize powerful Dragon-Type Synchro Monsters, although residual effects when they require Dragon-Type Tuner monsters as well as Winged Beast-Type non-Tuners're destroyed.
==Playing style==The main purpose of "Dragunity Knight - Romulus" and "Dragunity decks is to have combo plays available Remus" act as the searchers for easy Synchro Summons. the archetype's spell and traps, most importantly "Dragunity PhalanxDragon Ravine" is , the main consistency engine of the key card here - deck. Besides searching for resources, each one also has a Level 2 Tuner monster second effect that can be Special Summoned while it is equipped to a monsterprovides ways for more Synchro Summons. By equipping Phalanx to either The "Dragunity Dux" or Tuners also emphasize the use of "Dragunity LegionnaireCards of Consonance" (both as an essential part of which can equip Phalanx as soon as they're Normal Summoned)the deck, they allows access to Level 6 or 5 Synchro Monsters respectivelyproviding draw power while simultaneously setting up the Graveyard for combo plays. The most used Synchro Monster in this Deck is Lastly, "Dragunity Knight - VajrayanaTempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms", which has similar equipping abilities is highly recommended to Dux and Legionnaire that can be utilized teched into the deck to Synchro Summon Level 8 search a Dragon and dump a WIND monster (this is commonly known as , preferably one of the deck's combo tuners. With the plentiful search and draw engines, the "Synchro climbingDragunity" for most Dragunity duelists)archetype has a very reliable and stable game plan.
This combo only requires Dux in your hand Due to the synergy with Dragon, Winged Beast, and Phalanx WIND monsters in your Graveyardgeneral, and it is incredibly simple to setthe Deck can also be combined with splashable cards like "Blackwing -up with Zephyros the Elite", "Garuda the help of Wind Spirit", "Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon Ravine" and "Hieratic Seal of the Heavenly Spheres". ItThey are also one of the few archetypes that can benefit from "Windwitch" support, as they are unaffected by the latter's basicaly a WIND monster restriction. (All "Dragunity version of either "Reinforcement monsters are already WIND monsters). These series of cards are highly complementary to the Armydeck as “Windwitch - Ice Bell” acts as essentially a one-card gateway to " or "Foolish BurialCrystal Wing Synchro Dragon", it allows you to placing cards necessary for your combo, while also maintains a powerful monster the longevity and consistency of your combo. This allows you to continuously Synchro Summons in virtually every turn"Dragunity" archetype already utilizes.
Cards like The high-level "Dragunity" monsters function very differently from the other main deck monsters. "Dragunity Arma Mystletainn"is a combo extender, "Instant Fusion" (with "Mavelus") and "Garuda the Wind Spirit" can provide more Summoning power, exponentially increasing their speed and allows more providing material that facilitates further Synchro Summons and even Xyz Summons in one turn. , and with "Dragunity Knight - Luin"Tempest, Dragon Ruler also unlocks the use of Storms", combined with Ultimaya Tzolkin"Gold Sarcophagus. If " can also help search Romulus"Dragunity Arma Mystletainn" (or any other Dragon-type another Link monster necessary for your combo)is in the GY, aiding in consistency. Other support cards such as "Hieratic Dragon King of AtumMystletainn" can easily facilitate the summon and "Redomni-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon" allows the deck to take their Synchro Summoning power into the next level, raising their capabilities negate effect of Summoning multiple monster at once, and, at the same time, allows them to occasionally perform OTK or create near-invulnerable fields such as "Stardust Borreload Savage Dragon" + , by using itself with most likely "Queen Dragun DjinnPhalanx" + . "Photon Strike BounzerDragunity Arma Gram" combination. Because of thisis an extra weapon that is typically easy to summon after your initial combo plays, they and can also utilize Rank 6 Xyz Monster for handling certain difficult-to-approach scenarios, such as "Gauntlet Launcher" and "Constellar Ptolemy M7"aid link playsHowever, Both Armas have synergy with the January 2014 Lists, "Dragon RavineDragunity Glow" being Forbidden and "Tempest, Dragon Ruler of Storms" becomes Limited, making this archetype suffers (whose graveyard effect allows you to special summon a major loss monster in both consistency and power, eliminating them completely from competitive environmentthe S/T zone equipped to a "Dragunity"). === Recommended cards ==={{Decklist|Mainstream Dragunity<!-- This is not an exact Decklist. ===Weaknesses=== Ever since January 2014 format, Dragunity decks have lost a major consistency due Due to the loss of reliance on "Dux", "Dragon RavineSenatus", making them much harder and the Tuner monsters to compete be in the current metagame. Dragunity deck's main strategy is "Dragunity Dux" or "Dragunity Legionnaire"Graveyard, which makes negating their effects with hand traps like "Effect Veiler" or "Breakthrough Skill", or destroying them before their equipping effects kicks in with "Bottomless Trap HoleGhost Ogre & Snow Rabbit", "Torrential TributeCalled by the Grave" and "Solemn Warning" really proved troublesome for any Dragunity players (especially in early game stage).  Dragunity decks relies on their Graveyard since they need monsters "Dragunity Phalanx" in the Graveyard to execute their combo plays, which means cards that banishes like "D.D. Crow", "Crevice Into the Different Dimension"as well as removal effects that trigger upon its Summon, "Chain Disappearance", and "Banisher of the Radiance", or such as cards that prohibits Graveyard access like "Necrovalley" and "The End of AnubisBottomless Trap Hole" , can be reliable counters against Dragunity decks. Since most Dragunity decks are built in turbo-style combo based effective ways to disrupt the strategy, cards that disallows or disrupts Special Summons such as "Vanity's Emptiness" and "Fossil Dyna Pachycephalo" is very catastrophic for this DeckDespite the numerous disadvantages "Dragunity" users face, "Dragunity" Decks also have ways of dealing The first weakness was addressed with these cards. "Debunk" and "Mind Drain" can stop "Maxx "C", "Gorz the Emissary release of Darkness", and Senatus"Effect Veiler", while "Imperial Iron Wall" completely annihilate any and all banishing attempts (albeit it also prevents you from Special Summoning any of Dragon Rulers if you utilize them). You can add Spell/Trap removal cards to get rid of threats like "Poisonous WindsDivine Lance", "Dimensional Fissure", "Macro Cosmos", "Vanity's Emptiness", etc. ==Trivia== * The Dragon-Type monsters in this archetype so far all have armor which either covers most of their body ("Dragunity Phalanx"), or have a piece of armor that resembles, and is named after, a weapon (i.e. can equip "Dragunity Darkspear"), or wielding Tuners directly from the weapons themselves (i.e. "Dragunity Arma Leyvaten"). By contrast, the Winged Beast-Type monsters seem to be named after historical warriors (Ex. - "Dragunity Legionnaire" is named after the common solider in the Roman army). {| class="wikitable"!
