Level Limit-Area B : continuous magic, all face up lvl 4 and up monsters are switched into defence position Final Attack Orders : continuous trap, all face up monsters go to atk position and their positions cannot be changed If I have level limit b activated on the field, then final attack orders is chained to it (and vice versa), what happens to a monster lvl 4+? does it go to atk or def position?

suppose i have a dream clown that is lvl 4(it's 3 but lets change it in this case) does the effect activate? dream clown's effect:if this monster is changed from face up atk to face up def position, destroy 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field

  • As a rule of thumb, the "cannot" effect overrides the other effect. Thus, Final Attack Orders will override Level Limit - Area B in all situations. All face-up monsters will be put into attack position and cannot change from that position. I don't see Dream Clown being able to activate its effect because it cannot be changed to defense position while Final Attack Orders is active. -- Sub 00:00, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

The rulings page says:

If "Level Limit - Area B" is activated while "Final Attack Orders" is active, then the most recently resolved effect takes precedence and monsters Level 4 or higher will be in Defense Position.

So if "FAO" was chained to it, "FAO" would resolve first. Danny Lilithborne 02:16, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

I believe the "people upstairs" have now stated that you cannot activate cards or activate cards in responce to another card that would create an endless loop. They have termed this an "illegal activation", and the way to resolve this is either not play a card that would cause an "endless loop" situation, OR the most recent card to be played that caused the "endless loop" is concidered "illegally activated" and therefore returned to the players hand or put face-down again (depending on where it was when it was activated).

So in this case, if Level Limit - Area B is activated, your opponent cannot respond by activating Final Attack Orders. SolarFlare045 06:15, 30 October 2008 (UTC)

Danny Lilithborne is right. If 2 or more continuous effect try to activate at the same time, such as "Level Limit - Area B" and "Final Attack Orders" then the card that was played first activates first and followed by the other (but they don't form a chain). So if "Level Limit - Area B" was in play and then "Final Attack Orders" is activated, then if you summon a level 4 monster, "Level Limit - Area B" activates first and switches the monster to defense mode and then "Final Attack Orders" switches it to attack mode.

Also continuous effect with negating effect always resolves first. For example if you summon "Jinzo" while "Final Attack Orders" is activated, then "Jinzo"s effect activates first (as continuous negating effect) and then "Final Attack Orders"'s (but it has been already negated). • To my knowledge, whichever is last completely overrides the previous one. In ATEMVEGETA's example, the monster would remain in ATK mode without switching. (This would be important for "Berserk Gorilla".) --Deus Ex Machina (Talk) 02:32, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

So, to your knowledge, if "Final Attack Orders" is in play and then "Level Limit-Area B" is activated, then if an 4star level monster is special summoned in face-up defense position, then it will not be switched first in attack mode and then back in defense mode, but it will stay in defense position. So effect monsters like "Blade Rabbit"'s will not activate. Right? ATEMVEGETA 3:06, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
