This is a direct quote from the rulings page of Black Rose Dragon, I just want a clarification:

If the monster targeted by "Black Rose Dragon's" second effect is not changed to Attack Position by "Black Rose Dragon's" effect, its ATK is not reduced to 0.[1]

The clarification that I am needing, last night my Girlfriend had Gaia Knight, the Force of Earth on the field in attack position. I was able to Synchro Summon BRD and then, I used it's effect to lower Gaia's attack to 0, and destroy it. Was I able to do that, since Gaia was already in attack position. By reading that ruling, I was unable to do that. Was that a legal play.
