In the first series anime, Honda is the head of the clean-up committee at school and often overdramatically cites his duty while doing things, which causes him to annoy his friends.
He has a MAJOR crush on Miho Nosaka. Whenever he feels like not doing something or going somewhere, and Miho wants to go or do something, Honda will eagerly change his mind and do what Miho wants to do. In the first series anime, Miho wants a watch, but complained about the line being too long. Tristan offered to go and buy it for her. Also, when Digital Pets became popular, Miho claims that she was too tired to look after her pet. Honda spend three days and nights of endless rest and sleep trying to look after it and transform it into the Ultimate Pet. This proves that Honda is responsible, loyal and reliable. He named this pet 'Super Strawberry'. It's personality was exactly like Tristan's and it loved to clear up.
In middle-school, Honda developed a strong friendship bond with Jounouchi. He recalls this in one of the episodes, when Jounouchi turns against him and his friends. Luckily, he brought Jounouchi back to his senses with a band used in a running competition of some sort.
