A monster that goes from face-down to face-up via battle, or card effect is considered flipped face-up.
A monster that is flipped face-up by battle or via a card effect, is not Flip Summoned, so an effect like Swarm of Scarabs will not activate, but a Flip Effect like Cyber Jar or Magician of Faith will be activated.
A monster that goes from face-up to face-down is considered flipped face-down.
