Royal Oppression
The BKSS ruling
TCG ruling states:
"You can Chain the effect of “Royal Oppression” to negate and destroy “Starlight Road.”"
This includes may other effects that may or may not Special Summon monsters during the resolution of their effects. For example, Monster Gate and Macro Cosmos
Why is it BKSS?
The OCG Japanese card text for Royal Oppression states:
- "モンスターの特殊召喚及び、モンスターの特殊召喚を含む効果を無効にし破壊する。".
A more correct English translation would be:
- "The Special Summon of a monster(s) and/or the effect that includes the Special Summon of a monster(s) is negated and destroy those cards."
This implies that the effect of Royal Oppression can be used to negate effects that have a possibility of Special Summoning monsters even if it is not known whether or not monsters will be Special Summoned during the activation of the effect.

"If you activate “Zombie Master’s” effect, and an effect is chained that removes “Zombie Master” from the field or flips it face-down, the effect disappears and you cannot Special Summon the targeted monster."
Why is it BKSS?
The OCG Japanese card text for Zombie Master states:
- "このカードがフィールド上に表側表示で存在する限り,...".
A more correct English translation would be:
- "As long as this card is face-up on the field,..."
This means that Zombie Master has to be face-up on the field for its effect to resolve properly.
