This card first made its anime cameo in Episode Two. Pegasus played this card during his first duel against Yugi. Pegasus released Yugi's "Koumori Dragon" from his "Dragon Capture Jar".

Both the Japanese and English Anime show the Attribute of this card as FIRE. However, this was certainly a DARK monster in the manga, since Pegasus could use it as a tribute to activate the effect of "Crush Card Virus".

The original manga lore was: "If "Dragon Capture Jar" is face-up on your side of the field, you can select 1 of the monsters that has been removed from play by the effect of "Dragon Capture Jar" and Special Summon it to your side of the field."
- Dragon Piper was a Dark monster in the manga.
- Dragon Piper had two stars rather than 3 in the manga.
