- This card can be easily Summoned with "Marauding Captain" and any Level 3 monster.
- Feedback Warrior can help summoning this card as well.
- Using Level 3 monsters with effects that activate in the graveyard are ideal material monsters for this card. The best cards to use are "Shield Warrior" and "Necro Gardna", as they activate while already in the graveyard.
- This card can be almost immediately Special Summoned with the effect of "Tour Guide From the Underworld".
- Use the effect of "Lava Dragon" to Special Summon 2 Level 3 Dragon-Type monsters like "Masked Dragon" or "Hunter Dragon" from your Graveyard and use them as Xyz Materials for "Number 17: Leviathan Dragon".
- "Rescue Rabbit" can be used to Xyz Summon this card.
- In a "Skill Drain" deck, you can use this card's effect twice, then activate Skill Drain. Since Leviathan Dragon's effect is a Lingering Effect, it will keep its attack gain, and now be able to attack your opponent directly.
- Use in a Number combination with "Number 20: Giga-Brilliant", further increasing its attack, getting Leviathan up to 3100 while still being able to attack your opponent directly.
- Use Number 19: Freezerdon to give Leviathan extra Xyz materials to increase its ATK beyond 3000 and still be able to attack directly.
