I'm a little confused about this Heroic Guard's effect. Or, actually what is this card's effect? here, the lore says it increase your life points equal to the Tributed monster's ATK, which i'm not sure how to calculate it. Gauche's life points went from 3000 to 1400. 1600 damage. i thought it was negating the battle damage, then take damage equal to the tributed monster's original ATK, which is 1600 (Heroic Challenger Spartas' original atk). can someone help me clarify this? 24.83.215.20 (talk) 21:32, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
I think someone just messed with the page, I just changed it back.--Helix-king (talk • contribs) 22:47, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
- K, then what do we do with the japanimelore? i used to think they translated from that. maybe, they did it in reverse, translating from eng to jap. 24.83.215.20 (talk) 23:33, June 11, 2012 (UTC)
- From what I can get from "Free Translation" site -
The life point of a/the self is recovered only the offensive power minute of the monster when I released, by releasing "H C" and monster 1 body on self field, when a/the self received battle damage.

- I'm going to assume that's the effect that increases Life Points. i tried calculating the result of Gauche's Life Points while also assuming that Heroic guard's other effect is similar to Burst Breath, where you base the ATK on the Tributed monster's ATK while it was on the field.
- Battle Damage: 8000-3600 (missing one spartas) = - 3400
- Heroic Guard: +4800
- Life Points : 3000
- Total: 4400
