If a monster is destroyed by Bottomless.. can I special summon a Green Baboon from hand or grave?

Thanks in advance.

Read Green Baboon very carefully. "If this card is in your hand or Graveyard when a face-up Beast-Type monster you control is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard (except during the Damage Step): You can pay 1000 Life Points; Special Summon this card."
Bottomless Trap Hole banishes the monster, so it doesn't go to the Graveyard. The only case in which this doss not happen is if Imperial Iron Wall is chained to Bottomless. 31.11.101.253 (talk) 18:01, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

Ok, I get that part, but bottomless trap hole destroys a monster and then it banishes it, in that case, does the monster go to the graveyard and then it is removed and we lose the effect of Green because of timing, or am I wrong altogether?

Bottomless destroys the monster(s) and then banishes that monster, the monster card never hits the grave, it goes from the field to the banished zone. Baboon's effect has two parts, part A is the monster has to be destroyed and part B is the monster has to go to the graveyard. Since there is an "and" between the two parts, they happen at the same time, and since you can't send the monster to the grave, you can't summon Baboon. Both parts of the effect have to happen in order to summon Green Baboon. --Dark Ace SP (Talk) 18:30, June 17, 2013 (UTC)
