- In the Yu-Gi-Oh! Anime, if "Ectoplasmer" targets a monster and both players have a monster the same as the targeted one both monsters are Tributed, as shown when Yami Yugi dueled Arkana in Battle City.
- Ectoplasmer's effect could be used more than once per turn, but was not continuous. If the two monsters Tributed were the same card, damage done to either players is negated.
- Yami Bakura used "Ectoplasmer" and Tributed "Duke of Demise" to defeat Bonz in Battle City. He . He placed it on the Field Card Zone.
Yu-Gi-Oh! GX
