"Ring of Destruction":

In manga, this card's effect is "Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. This card becomes an Equip Card equipped to the attacking monster. Destroy that monster and inflict damage to that monster controller equal to the destroyed monster's ATK". Because that, Kaiba doesn't need Ring of Defense.

Seto Kaiba uses this card in his tag duel against Lumis and Umbra, his duel with Noah Kaiba, and during the four-way duel between himself, Yugi Muto, Yami Marik and Joey Wheeler. Each time he combined it with Ring of Defense. Kaiba used the card without the Ring of Defense against Dartz.
It was first used in his tag duel against Lumis and Umbra. When "Shining Abyss" was about to attack "Vorse Raider", Kaiba attempted to use this card to destroy "Shining Abyss, however Lumis used "Curse Transfer" to switch the target of this card to "Vorse Raider", destroying it instead. Kaiba then tried to use "Ring of Defense" to protect himself from the damage inflicted by this card, but Umbra used "Spell Transfer" to have "Ring of Defense" protect him instead.
It was next used in Kaiba's duel with Noah. Kaiba used this card to destroy "Last Tusk Mammoth" before it attacked "Different Dimension Dragon". Kaiba then used "Ring of Defense" to protect himself from the damage inflicted by this card.
This card can be seen in Kaiba's hand during the battle royal in 122.

In Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Bastion Misawa used this card in his entrance exam duel, destroying his Vorse Raider and wiping out the rest of the proctor's life points.
This card belongs to Bastion which Chazz Princeton threw this card into the water in episode 12.
During Bastion's duel with Jaden, this card is shown as one of the ten cards piled on top of Carboneddon in Bastion's Graveyard. He discarded a card when he summoned Mathematician, but it wasn't revealed what it was until later. Via process of elimination, it had to have been this card.
Later on, Chazz uses this on Gyaku-Gire Panda and protects himself with Ring of Defense while the North Academy students are wiped out.
In Chazz's first duel with Alexis Rhodes, he destroys her Blade Skater when she attacks his Ojama Yellow, using this card.
This card appears in the GX Japanese closing song, Borderline Battle.
