- This card is useful against a plethora of commonly used cards like "Effect Veiler", "Maxx "C"", "Honest", "Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow", "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness", "Battle Fader", "Swift Scarecrow" and "Tragoedia".
- Side this card against Mermail decks, to prevent them using the effect of their boss monsters, which discards cards from the hand to Special Summon themselves.
- This card can be side against Prophecy/Spellbook decks, to prevent them from using the effect of their boss monster, High Priestess of Prophecy, which reveals cards from the hand to Special Summon itself.
- Side this card against Incarnate Dragon decks, to prevent them from using their dragons' effects that Banish/Discard from the hand because they cannot activate in the hand while Mind Drain is active on the field.
