- This card's name is derived from a similarly named MTG creature.
- Amongst the Japanese player community, this card holds a similar position to "Shapesnatch" in the TCG community as a joke. But, as "Morinphen" cannot be searched by any monster recruiter like Sangan, Mystic Tomato, etc., it is hard to Special Summon from the deck.
