- This card is the first Level 12 Synchro Monster to have appeared in the OCG and Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's series, so far. It is also the first Synchro Monster that requires 2 Tuner Monsters.
- This card is the second Synchro Monster that requires "Red Dragon Archfiend" as a Synchro Material, the first one was "Majestic Red Dragon".
- This card is an avatar form of the final and strongest Earthbound Immortal, Scar-Red Nova, after Jack managed to subjugate its power and seal it inside a card via the state of Burning Soul.
- This makes it the first and only card related to both the Signer Dragons and the Earthbound Immortals.
- This card's first effect mirrors "Shooting Star Dragon", as this card involves Tuners in the Graveyard (the past) while Shooting Star Dragon involves Tuners in the Deck (the future).
- Interestingly, Shooting Star Dragon was given to Yusei Fudo by a futuristic god, Scar-Red Nova Dragon is claimed by Jack Atlas after sealing an ancient god.
- Both Jack and Yusei make reference to the states of Clear Mind and Burning Soul as opposite concepts, and weapons to defeat Yliaster (episode 113).
- In another way that this card and Shooting Star has only been used in a Turbo Duel and that Scar-Red Nova was only used in a Ground Duel.
- Shooting Star was made out of the evolution of synchro summmons (Accel Synchro) while Scar-Red Nova is another synchro summon with more power (2 tuners instead of one). This also represents Yusei and Jack's idea of becoming better duelists and gaining more power respectively.
- This card resembles Destoroyah from the Godzilla series.
