Adding some details about simultaneous card/effect activation
Another example of a Continuous Trap Card is "Royal Decree", which negates Trap Cards' effects. However, since it is still Spell Speed 2, it cannot be used against cards like "Magic Drain", "Seven Tools of the Bandit", "Negate Attack", or "Trap Jammer", since they are all Counter Trap Cards, and thus Spell Speed 3.
You can activate Continuous Trap Cards and activate their such as "Quick-like EffectChain Bursts on the same Chain. For example, when your opponent activates " and "Monster RebornCurse of Darkness" you can activate "have to be Royal Oppressionface-up" on the field before the card it inflicts damage against is activated; you cannot chain these cards to the activation of the card type mentioned and activate its still maintain the effect on of inflicting damage. This is because the timing has been missed; the same chaincard in question has already been activated.
Also==Trap Monsters==Trap MonsterSome Continuous Trap Cards become monsters when activated, cards such known as "Chain BurstTrap Monster" and s. An example of a Trap Monster is "Curse of DarknessMetal Reflect Slime" have to , which has high DEF. A Trap Monster is considered both a Continuous Trap Card and a monster simultaneously, so it can be face-up on the field before the card it inflicts damage against is activated; you cannot chain these affected by both cards to the activation of the card type mentioned that affect monsters and still maintain the effect of inflicting damage. This is because the timing has been missed; the card in question has already been activatedcards that affect Continuous Trap Cards.
Some ==Activating the card and effect in the same Chain Link==You can activate Continuous Trap cards also become monster cards when activated. These are often referred to as Cards and their Trap MonsterQuick-like Effectsduring the same Chain Link. An For example of a Trap Monster is , when your opponent activates "Stronghold the Moving FortressMonster Reborn", which can be used to give you some defense when you have no monsters. These cards can be destroyed by activate "Heavy StormRoyal Oppression" or other cards that can destroy traps, even though they are considered monster cards. These type of cards take up one Spell & Trap Card Zone, as well as one Monster Card Zoneand activate its effect in the same Chain Link.
See You can also: activate some Continuous Trap Cards and their Trigger-like Effect s during the same Chain Link. Whether or not a Continuous Trap Card and its Trigger-like Effect can be activated in the same Chain Link varies from card-to-card. Mandatory Trigger-like Effects cannot be activated during the same Chain Link as the Continuous Trap Card during the Damage Step. If a Continuous Trap Card has an optional Trigger-like Effect or Quick-like Effect]] of that can be activated during the Damage Step and that can be activated in the same Chain Link as the card itself, that Continuous Trap CardsCard can also be activated during the Damage Step as long as the effect and card are activated in the same Chain Link. However, mandatory Trigger-like Effects cannot be activated in the same Chain Link as the card during the Damage Step.
