However, mandatory Trigger-like Effects and Quick-support cards}}like Effects cannot be activated in the same Chain Link as the card during the Damage Step.
If an effect's activation conditions include "Continuous Trap Cards'while this card is face-up on the field " (Japanese: 永続罠カード Eizoku Torappu Kādo) are e.g. "Trap CardAll-Out Attackss that stay on the field after activation. The effect(s") of these cards will remain active until the owner cannot maintain the cost or condition(s) indicated on the "while this card is already face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone" (if any) OR it is destroyede.g. One example of a Continuous Trap Card is "Spellbinding CircleCyber Summon Blaster"), which effectively freezes an enemy monster on that effect cannot meet its activation timing before the fieldContinuous Trap Card has been activated, so it can neither change battle position nor declare an attackthat effect cannot be activated in the same Chain Link as the card itself.
Most A Continuous Trap Cards require a cost to maintain or possess a condition under which Card cannot activate an effect in the same Chain Link as the card is destroyed itself if said that effect sends itself to the Graveyard as a cost/condition is not met(e.g. Two examples of these are "Imperial OrderYang Zing Unleashed" and ) or banishes itself as a cost (e.g. "Call of the HauntedGhoti Fury". "Imperial Order" requires a cost of 700 Life Points to maintain), but because the monster used with it is destroyed. Continuous Trap Cards are also Card is not face-up on the only kind of Trap Card field at activation; these effects typically specify that can the card must be used sent/banished while face-up in order to summon clarify this, although some do not (e.g. "Uria, Lord Sentence of Searing FlamesDoom", with the exception of cards such as "Blast with ChainSimorgh Sky Battle" ) but still function the same way regardless. If a Continuous Trap Card has both an activation effect and "Kunai with a Trigger-like or Quick-like Effect, that other effect cannot be activated in the same Chain"Link as the activation of the card itself, which are not Continuous Trap Cardsbecause only one effect can be activated per Chain Link, but remain on even if the field after activationeffect is optional.
Another example Additionally, the Trigger-like Effects of a Continuous Trap Card is the cards "Royal DecreeCoffin Seller", which negates Trap Cards' effects<ref>{{cite web |url=http://www.db.yugioh-card.com/yugiohdb/faq_search. You can activate Continuous Trap Cards and activate their Quick-like Effects on == Example ==
Also, cards such as "Chain Burst" and "Curse of Darkness" have to be face-up on the field before the card it inflicts damage against is activated; you cannot chain these cards to the activation of the card type mentioned and still maintain the effect of inflicting damage. This is because the timing has been missed; the card in question has already been activated.== In other languages ==
Some Continuous Trap cards also become monster cards when activated. These are often referred to as Trap Monsters. An example of a Trap Monster is "Stronghold the Moving Fortress", which can be used to give you some defense when you have no monsters. These cards can be destroyed by "Heavy Storm" or other cards that can destroy traps, even though they are considered monster cards. These type of cards take up one Spell & Trap Card Zone, as well as one Monster Card Zone.== References ==<references/>
