"Deck Out", also known as "Mill", is a a term for a type of deck . To "Deck Out" means to reduce the number of cards in a player's Deck to 0. If they draw a card during their Draw Phase when they have 0 cards in their Deck, they lose the Duel. This is common with Lightsworn and Laval Decks. So far, only three actual people in the anime have lost due to decking out; Strings and Seto Kaiba from Yu-Gi-Oh! (second series) and Howard X Miller from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.

The first three main male protagonists have nearly decked out at least once in their own main series. Yugi Muto nearly Decked Out in his duels against Leon and later against Yami Bakura. Jaden Yuki nearly Decked out in his duel against Howard X Miller and, during their second Duel, Sartorius. Yusei Fudo nearly Decked Out in his duels against Mr. Armstrong and Jean.
