When using an effect of either trap, spell, or monster that destroys cards if a card is triggered by the destruction of said card does the card that was triggered work.

I'm not sure what your asking can you clarify your question and maybe give an example.Skavinger 07:05, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Yes, as you made the question, the triggered card should work, except the destroying card has also another effect and the triggered card has an optional effect, then she misses the timing. ATEMVEGETA 07:54, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

I believe i have taken that combo out of my deck, and therefore can't remember the example. But if I find it, I will post it here. Thanks again. Duelist33 18:23, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

I just thought of the combo. I had filled my S/T zones with 5 cards. Including Seismic shockwave. I attacked opponents face down Man Eater Bug. with my Ultimate Tyranno. opponent flipped over Man Eater Bug activated its Flip Effect, and destroyed my 2nd Ultimate Tyranno. I activated Seismic Shockwave because my Ultimate Tyranno was sent to the graveyard, destroyed. My opponent said that you can't do that. Duelist33 18:39, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

  • To clarify further, the only cards that can be activated in the Damage Step are Counter Trap cards, Quick-Play Spells and Traps with ATK and/or DEF altering effects for monsters, and other cards that explicitly state that they can be activated in the Damage Step. Since Seismic Shockwave is not one of them, you wouldn't be able to activate it at that time. If, however, your opponent flipped his face-down Man-Eater Bug face-up during his/her Main Phase 1 or 2 and destroyed one of your Dinosaur-Type monsters, the timing would be correct for you to activate Seismic Shockwave, so long as your opponent has 2 or less cards in his/her S/T zone. --Darth Covah 19:26, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
  • Dark Covah, that is so so very wrong. Did you forget that Waboku can also be activated during the Damage Step?
