1. Can we activate the effect of stardust dragon\ assault mode to negate the effect of solemn judgement that negate the special summon of stardust dragon\ assault mode????

2. Is the flipping coin effect of arcana force monster start a chain? can we negate it with stardust dragon\ assault mode effect?

3. Can we activate the effect of stardust dragon\ assault mode to negate the second effect of honest? ( or similiar card that activate in graveyard)

4. Can we activate the effect of stardust dragon\ assault mode to negate the special summon of monster that has the effect to special summon itself?? (ex: dark armed dragon, judgement dragon)

1a) What? Solemn Judgment cannot negate the Special Summon of Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode! SD/AM has an effect that activates in the End Phase and allows it to Special Summon itself, starting a chain. So Solemn can't negate it, since it cannot interrupt the resolution of a chain.
1b) Solemn is a Spell Speed 3 card (Counter Trap). SD/AM's Quick Effect is Spell Speed 2. So you can't negate Solemn with SD/AM.
2) Yes and yes.
3a) Honest's second effect does not activate in the Graveyard. His second effect activates and resolves in the hand, but the card is in the graveyard. The effect and the card are not the same thing.
3b) SD/AM can negate any of the effects of Honest, and can also negate effects that activate in the Graveyard (i.e. Mystic Tomato).
4a) Neither Judgment Dragon nor Dark Armed Dragon have effects that allow them to Special Summon themselves. They have a Summoning Condition. The action of fulfilling the condition and summoning the monster does not start a chain (since it is not an effect).
4b) Since the Special Summon of DAD and/or JD don't start a chain, there is no effect to which to chain SD/AM's effect to negate it. SD/AM cannot negate summons, so his effect cannot be used in this case. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 14:55, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

1b) so, we cannot use the effect of SD/AM to negate the activation of any counter trap card??

  • Correct. To use SD/AM's effect, you have to chain it to whatever it is you want to negate. If you can't chain to it, you can't negate it. And you can only chain cards with equal or higher Spell Speed, except Spell Speed 1 (which are only chained in SEGOC). Since 2<3, You can't chain SD/AM's effect (2) to Solemn (3). You can only chain SS2 to SS2, SS3 to SS3, SS3 to SS2, SS2 to SS1 and SS3 to SS1. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 08:44, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

some more question :

> can SD/AM negates automatic Trigger effect like Lava Golem damage life point effect?

> can SD/AM negates the effect of countinuous spell or trap, like Solemn Wishes card that already active before, when of the effect of that card start?

> can SD/AM use its effect while negated by card like Skill Drain that already on the field ? ( since the effect resolves in graveyard)

Info comes from another thread

""Stardust Dragon/Assault Mode can negate ignition-like effects of S/T cards. It's different from LADD because: -SD/AM's effect reads: "When the effect of a Spell, Trap, or Effect Monster is activated..." -LADD's effect reads: "When a Spell or Trap Card is activated,..." Activating the effect of a S/T card is not activating the S/T card, that's why they are different.""

If solemn wishes has a ignition-like effect then yes. Skill drain can only negate effects that resolve on the field. Skill drain can not negate costs. Stardust Dragon releasing itself, is a cost and then the effect resolves in the grave. I hope this answers some of your questions. Atem Rules 22:05, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

> can SD/AM negates the effect of Alien Kid??Sumabek 23:08, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

  • No. Alien Kid's effects are Continuous, so they don't start a Chain in which SD/AM's effect can be a link. --Darth Covah (Talk | Contribs) 07:44, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
