A Fusion Summon is a Special Summon performed with the help of the Polymerization card. Any Summon conducted with cards from the the Fusion Deck that don't involve Polymerization are treated as regular Special Summons, with the following exceptions:
- Power Bond
- Fusion Gate
- Miracle Fusion
- Dragon's Mirror
- Overload Fusion
- Future Fusion
- Vehicroid Connection Zone
A Fusion Monster that was properly Fusion Summoned, can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard, unless otherwise stated on the card text. An Example of a Fusion Monster that cannot be Special Summoned from the Graveyard would be XYZ-Dragon Cannon.
