The Guardian Monsters are a special group of monsters initally released in Dark Crisis and re-released in Dark Revelation 1. Each monster has a corresponding Equip Spell Card (see below) and can only be summoned if that equip card is already face-up on the owner's side of the field. The equip does not have to be equipped to their corresponding monster. Each Guardian monster and spell card also have their own independent effects.
