She is a friend of [[Allen KozukiAlan]], [[Shay Obsidian]] and [[Kite Tenjo (ARC-V)|Kite Tenjo]], [[Shay Obsidian]] and [[Lulu Obsidian]], and she is a surviving resident of [[Heartland City (ARC-V)|Heartland]] in the [[Xyz Dimension]] and a member of [[the Resistance]]. She later became one of the major Xyz allies to the 's [[LancersClover Branch]].

Sayaka Saya wears a light blue dress with a teal turtleneck under a tan dress held up with brown shoulder straps and a blue belt that has a golden symbol resembling twin birds back to-back and green and orange pouches at both hips. She also wears brown tights, white finger-less gloves, white leg warmers with teal cuffs and straps, and light-orange shoes with green soles. Unlike many of her friends, Sayaka does Saya did not change her outfit after the invasion of Heartland.

Sayaka Saya has shown herself to be kind and caring; handing out soup rations to people despite not being on shift at the time. Allen [[Alan]] claims that Sayaka Saya is quite shy. ARC-V|105|ref}}</ref>, a student of Heartland Duel School's [[Spade Branch]]. She once defeated Lulu in a Duel and tried to give her a "[[Little Fairy (later anime)|Little Fairy]]" card, but Lulu's brother [[Shay Obsidian|Shay]] was angered by Lulu's loss and slapped the card away. Saya shared Yusho's philosophy of Dueling being used to bring smiles to people with Lulu.<ref name="ep103" />

One day, Duel Academy attacked and nearly annihilated the entire population of [[Heartland City (ARC-V)|Heartland City]]. During this invasion, Yusho suddenly disappeared, leading them to believe that he had abandoned them.<ref name="ep103" /> Sayaka Saya witnessed Lulu's kidnapping at the hands of [[Yuri]], frozen in fear and unable to help.<ref name="ep105" /> While Shay and [[Yuto]] went to the [[Standard Dimension]] to look for [[Declan Akaba]], [[the Resistance]] continued to fight. Despite their best efforts, both the Spade and Clover branches were nearly wiped outby the [[Gloria Tyler|Tyler]] [[Grace Tyler|sisters]], forcing them into hiding.<ref name="ep103" />

While [[Yuya Sakaki|Yuya]] and [[Kite Tenjo (ARC-V)|Kite]] were Dueling and Kite mistook Yuya for [[Yuto]], SayakaSaya, [[Shay Obsidian|Shay]], and [[Allen Kozuki|AllenAlan]] arrived and cleared up the misunderstanding. They attempted to convince Kite that the [[Lancers]] were comrades, but he refused to rejoin them and disappeared.<ref name="ep102" />

Back at their [[Duel Sanctuary (ARC-V)|hideout]], Sayaka Saya helped in distributing food for the refugees even though itwasn's not t her shift. Allen Alan told her not to overwork herself and told her to rest, something that Sayaka and Saya reluctantly relented. Sayaka then Saya listened to their the Lancers' discussion and revealed that Kite's entire family had been carded sealed into cards by Duel Academy while Shay and Yuto were away. While Yuya lamented over this, she remembered Yuya's last name and asked if he has had any connection with Yusho, explaining that Yusho was their teacher and disappeared during the invasion, and Allen Alan believed that Yusho has abandoned them.<ref name="ep103" />

Allen Alan and Sayaka Saya left the hideout in search of Kite. They eventually found him hunting Duel Academy Duelists. He told them to stay out of his way and [[Human Sealing Technology|sealed]] the Duelists into cards, ignoring Allen Alan telling him how worried Sayaka Saya was for him. Shay arrived and confronted Kitein a Duel. During the Duel, Allen Alan and Sayaka learn Saya learned about [[Action Card]]s from Sylvio when Shay used one. She also learned that Yuto was sealed inside of Yuya when he revealed a memory only they knowknew. After Shay was defeated, Kite was about to seal him in a card before Sayaka Saya begged Kite to stop as , sobbing that she couldn't bear to lose Shayas well. She also revealed that she had been present during Lulu's kidnapping by Yuri, but was too scared to intervene. While Later, while she was serving food to the survivorsin their hideout, Sayaka Saya began thinking back to what Shay told Kite about comrades. She ran out of the hideout and decided Deciding to find Kite to and bring him backto them, Saya abruptly ran off. While running through Heartland, Sayaka Saya ran into [[Gloria Tyler|Gloria]] and [[Grace Tyler|Grace]] while Allen caught up , two Duelists from Duel Academy who believed her to be a Lancer. They declared their intention to defeat her and seal herinto a card, but Alan arrived and told her to run. The two of them then had Saya refused to ran away again, so Gloira and Grace suggested a [[Tag-Team Duel]] against Gloria , and GraceSaya accepted. Sayaka Saya [[Xyz Summon]]ed "[[Fairy Cheer Girl (later anime)|Fairy Cheer Girl]]" , powered it up, and attacked Gloria's "[[Amazoness Queen (anime)|Amazoness Queen]]" but it's its [[Card effect|effect]] protected it from destruction by in battle. She [[Set]] a card and ended her [[Turn|turn]], but Allen told her she should have used without using the effect of "Cheer Girl" to [[Draw draw a card|draw]] another card, prompting Alan to call out her mistake. Sayaka Saya apologized, but Allen said and Alan quickly reassured her that he would do something great'd make up for it next turn. HoweverTo their shock, they learned that their opponents were the Tyler sisters and Sayaka was surprised when Allen remembered that the Tyler sisters almost destroyed , who had devestated the [[Spade Branch]]'s of the Resistance force. Sayaka , and Allen were then pushed pack by the Tyler sisters' Grace put pressure on them with "[[Amazoness Pet Liger (anime)|Amazoness Pet Liger]]". Sayaka Saya apologized to Allen Alan for being a burden but Allen told Alan reassured her that they hadn't lost yet. When AllenUnfortunately, the attack of Alan's "[[Heavy-Armored Train Iron Wolf (anime)|Heavy-Armored Train Iron Wolf]]" direct attack was negated by "Liger", Sayaka told Allen to use . Rememberin the effect of "Cheer Girl". When Allen was about receive , Saya told Alan to use its effect, which Alan used to draw "[[battle damageLimiter Removal (anime)|Limiter Removal]] sent back to him by ". Despite the increased ATK, the Tyler sisters reflected the damage with the effect of "[[Amazoness Swords Woman (anime)|Amazoness Swords Woman]]", Sayaka but Saya activated "[[Fairy Rail]]", turning the damage into [[ATK]] for "Cheer Girl". Sayaka told Allen to use "Cheer Girl" for the next attack. He did and they were able allowing Alan to turn the Duel aroundmake a comeback. However , they were both defeated when Gloria [[Fusion Summon]]ed "[[Amazoness Empress (anime)|Amazoness Empress]]", which allowed the twins' "Amazoness" monsters to inflict piercing damage. Just as Sayaka Saya and Allen Alan were about to be sealed into cards, Gong and Sylvio arrived.<ref name="ep107">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V|107|ref}}</ref> Their would-be rescuers were also defeated by the Tylers Tyler sisters while Sayaka Saya remained unconscious. She awoke woke to see Yuya and Shay Dueling the Tylers and the Tyler sisters gaining as they gained [[LP]] with "[[Amazoness Audience RoomHall]]". She and Allen Alan listened as Shay and Yuto (through Yuya) told the Tyler sisters that the Resistance doesndidn't give up. When Yuya's "[[Miracle Rocket Show]]" negated the monster's destruction and battle damage, Allen asked if they'd be able to win He Saya was amazed by Yuya's entertainment Dueling Dueltaining and how they defeated the Tyler sisters.<ref name="ep108">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! Sayaka Saya, Alan, and the Lancers watched the Duel between Shay and Yuya against three [[Obelisk Force]] members, with the Lancers and Allenthat pursued them. When the The Obelisk Force Summoned "[[Chaos Ancient Gear Giant (anime)|Chaos Ancient Gear Giant]]", triggering painful memories of the monster from when it had destroyed the city, and Saya fled in fear. Unwittingly, she ran away scared, but due to put herself in danger when the shockwave attack of "Chaos Giant's attack " damaged a nearby building. Fortunately, Shay rushed to save saved her , but he collapsed from his injuries. Kite showed up and helped Yuya defeat the falling buildingObelisk Force, but they were surrounded by more students led by [[Aster Phoenix (ARC-V)|Aster Phoenix]], getting injured to the point Commander-in-Chief of being unconsciousnessthe local Duel Academy forces.<ref name="ep109">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V|109|ref}}</ref> When [[Aster Phoenix (ARC-V)|Aster]]'s squad started began to surround themSaya, Alan, and the Lancers, but Kite defeated them , allowing everyone to escape while Yuya Dueled Aster.<ref name="ep110">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! Sayaka Saya and others made it back to the their hideout with Shay and watched over him while the Resistance went back for Yuya. They then learned that the Duel Academy students in Heartland had decided to abandon [[Arc Area Project]] and help rebuild the [[Xyz DimensionHeartland City (ARC-V)|Heartland]] to atone for what they have had done. Allen Alan expressed his concern over their decision to let them help but Sayaka Saya told him they have had the best medical care at their headquarters. She was surprised when Kite admitted his mistakes when he saw Aster doing the same thing. She also listened to Yuto assuring Kite that he's showing the same bravery by admitting his own mistakes and enduring the pain of losing his family and friends. She was also surprised when Aster revealed that there's was a way to change back restore the people who had been carded. Howeversealed into cards, but they first must would have to retrieve those who were carded them from Duel Academy in the Fusion Dimension since all the carded people were sent there. Sayaka Saya encouraged Kite to save his family and Lulu while Shay recovered. A second rift opened They woke to find themselves in front of her and she tried to run away with Allen, but they were sucked into it and sent to the [[Fusion Dimension]]. They woke to find themselves , watching Shay and Kite's Duel. Sayaka Saya was amazed when Shay and Kite both used "[[Rank-Up-Magic Limitover Limit Over Force]]" to [[Rank-Up]] their monsters without knowing what the other had. Unfortunately, Kite and Shay's [[Zarc|opponent]], who Kite and Shay referred to as [[Yuto]] and [[Yuya Sakaki|Yuya]], used the effect of his "[[Supreme King Servant Dragon Dark Rebellion (anime)|Supreme King Dragon Dark Rebellion]]" to reduce the ATK of Kite and Shay's monsters to zero. Before Sayaka Saya and Allen Alan could witness the climax of the Duel, another portal opened and transported them to the [[Standard Dimension|another dimension]].<ref name="ep137">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh!
