The Signer Dragons (シグナーの竜 Shigunā no Ryū) are a series of DragonLevel-7 and 8 TypeDragon Synchro Monsters, introduced in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. These legendary dragons play a part in the legend of the Crimson Dragon, as well as being connected to the Signers themselves. That connection being that these legendary beasts, who are actually servants to joined forces with the Crimson Dragon, were the ones who sealed an evil within the Nazca Lines.
That very same evil, which is now known as the "Earthbound Immortals", reappeared once again in the world as Duel Monsters cards used by the Dark Signers.
All Every Signer Dragons (excluding the ones featured in the manga) have Dragon has been featured in the anime and have has been released in the OCG/TCG. They are: "Stardust Dragon", "Red Dragon Archfiend", "Black Rose Dragon", "Ancient Fairy Dragon", "Black-Winged Dragon" and "Life Stream Dragon".
In the anime, Professor Fudo gave the "Stardust Dragon", "Red Dragon Archfiend", and "Black Rose Dragon", and "Black Rose Dragon" Duel Monsters cards to Rex Goodwin. These cards were originally designed so that their corresponding Signer could activate the safety switches for the Ener-D system.

Despite this, "Life Stream Dragon" has a downgraded, armored version, "Power Tool Dragon", which is a required Synchro Material for its Synchro Summon. Eventually, OCG-original upgrades of the other Signer Dragons were released. ===Cosmic Synchro Monsters=== 8Cosmic Synchro MonsterThese are upgraded forms of " Stardust Dragon" and "Red Dragon Archfiend", characterised by a name centered around a space phenomena. They are not Synchro Summoned in the usual method. "Shooting Star Dragon", for example, is the Accel Synchro evolution of "Stardust Dragon", requiring 1 Tuner Synchro Monster and its base form. Although Jack's new ace monster "Red Nova Dragon" ("Red Dragon Archfiend"'s evolution) is not an Accel Synchro Monster, it uses a method called "Double Tuning" to achieve its evolution and is in the same power range as "Shooting Star". In the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime, to Summon these Synchro Monsters, the user has to perform a specific ability: examples are Clear Mind for "Shooting Star" and "Blazing Soul" for "Red Nova". The ATK of "Shooting Star Dragon" and "Red Nova Dragon" are 500 points less than their base forms' "Majestic" versions, while their DEFis equivalent to their original form's ATK. "Shooting Quasar Dragon" is considered the ultimate peak of the Signer Dragons and all Synchro Monsters. {| 2500class="wikitable" style="text-align:center"| 2000! Monster !! Base form !! ===Limit Over Accel MonstersDowngraded versions===The Limit Over Accel Synchro monster is considered to be the ultimate type These are downgraded forms of Synchro Monster. In the anime, summoning a Limit Over Accel Synchro requires the duelist to achieve Over Top Clear Mind. Reaching this state will cause the duelist, and their Duel Runner to become a shining gold color, implicating the god-like power involved with performing this type of Synchro Summonoriginal Signer Dragons.
Limit Over Accel Synchros are Synchro Summoned in a similar way to Cosmic Synchro Monsters. However, they do not require their corresponding Signer counterpart in their summoning requirements. They use 2 normal Synchro Monsters, plus 1 Tuner Synchro {| class="wikitable" style="text-align:center"! Monster, which is the same to how !! There is only 1 Limit Over Accel Synchro Monster: "Shooting Quasar ==Crimson Dragon", the ultimate evolution of "'s card forms==The Stardust Crimson Dragon". It must be Synchro Summoned, and it cannot be Special Summoned any other ways. However, despite this downfall, it is able to attack once for every Synchro Material Monster used to Synchro Summon it, and it can negate 1 itself also possesses some card or effect per turn. It can also call for backup, Special Summoning a "Shooting Star Dragon" from the Extra Deck if it ever gets removed from the field. In the anime, it was Synchro Summoned using all of the other Signer Dragons (the exception being, of course, "Stardust Dragon") as Synchro Material Monsters, utilizing the effect of "Life Stream Dragon" to reduce their levels' to 1forms.

Duel Dragons
Duel Dragon
In the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's mangamanga, the Signer Dragons do not appear. Instead, a similar archetype series known as the Duel Dragons is featured, and it is used by the modern Duel DragonPriests is featured. Five Many of them are slightly redesigned Signer Dragons: "Ancient Pixie Dragon", named "Black Rose Moonlight Dragon Red Demon", "Ancient Fairy Blackfeather Darkrage Dragon", "Hot Red DragonArchfiend", and "StardustSpark Dragon" and . There is no Duel Dragon counterpart of "Life Stream Dragon"; "Power Tool Mecha Dragon - Black Feather"appears instead. However, not all All the Duel Dragons are related to and their variations have been released in the Signer DragonsTCG/OCG.
==Playing Stylestyle==There are various kinds of playing styles for each dragon, especially "Stardust Dragon" and "Red Dragon Archfiend". All of the dragons (except "Life Stream Dragon") have no specific Summoning Conditionscondition and are easily s, making them easy to Synchro Summoned onto the Playing Field. Thus , so they can be used in almost any Extra Deck.

Trivia
* The initial Signer Dragons ("Stardust Dragon", "Red Dragon Archfiend", "Black Rose Dragon", "Power Tool Dragon", and "Ancient Fairy Dragon") were all designed by Kazuki Takahashi. Takahashi's illustrations also included an early concept of "Life Stream Dragon", albeit one that differed considerably from the final version.
* In the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime, despite the fact that "Stardust Dragon", "Ancient Fairy Dragon", "Red Dragon Archfiend", "Black Rose Dragon", and "Life Stream Dragon" fought against the "Earthbound Immortals" in the past, the Crimson Dragon did not awaken the true form of "Life Stream Dragon" in the present when Leo was Dueling against Devack (the Dark Signer with Earthbound Immortal Cusillu, the same one it had defeated 5000 years prior).

* In the anime, creating perfect new copies of the Signer Dragons seemed to be impossible - when Paradox stole Yusei's "Stardust Dragon" by absorbing its spirit into a blank card, the resulting copy was a black-bordered card with a mirrored image, something that was not observed in any of the other cards that Paradox copied. The hologram of the monster, however, was left unaltered. In contrast, the card copies of "Red Dragon Archfiend" that Lester created were identical to the real card, but the holograms of the monsters itself had yellow, purple, and teal color schemes, instead of the red one of the original.

* The Signer Dragons that were used by male Signers are Level 8, while those used by female Signers are Level 7.

* DARK is the only Attribute represented by more than one Signer Dragon ("Red Dragon Archfiend" and "Black-Winged Dragon"), while WATER and DIVINE are the only Attributes not represented by any of them ("Stardust Dragon" is WIND, "Black Rose Dragon" is FIRE, "Ancient Fairy Dragon" is LIGHT, and "Life Stream Dragon" is EARTH).
===Fusion Monsters===* "Ancient Fairy Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste" is currently the only Signer Dragon without any upgraded counterpart.
==TriviaReferences==Despite the fact that "Stardust Dragon", "Ancient Fairy Dragon", "Red Dragon Archfiend", "Black Rose Dragon" and "Life Stream Dragon" fought against the Earthbound Immortals in the past, the Crimson Dragon did not awaken "Power Tool Dragon's" true form in the present when it was going against Devack (a Dark Signer with the very Earthbound Immortal it had defeated 5000 years ago). <references />
It appears that forgery of the Signer Dragons cannot be done without imperfections - when Paradox stole Yusei's Stardust Dragon, the copy was a black-bordered card with a mirrored image, something that was not observed in any of the other cards that Paradox copied. The hologram of the monster, however, was unaltered. In contrast, the card copies of Red Dragon Archfiend that Lester created were identical to the real ones, but the holograms of the monster itself replaced the red coloration with yellow, purple, and teal, a different one for each copy.SacredArchseries navbox
