OK, time to slow down a bit hereEdit

You need to go over the image upload rules again. The cards do not include Set Numbers, only the Set prefix. LIke so.

ImageTheBistroButcherMRD-EN-C.jpg

MRD is the Set Prefix, EN or JP specifies the language, and C specific the rarity, in this case, Common. Please keep the Image filenames to this guideline, please.

And please try and see if the image already exists before uploading. Also, words like 'of' and 'the' are not capitalised.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 22:40, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

No Formatting in Lore textEdit

Please don't insert page breaks, or any HTML formatting in the lore section, since it screws up edits later on, having to sift through them --TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 18:11, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

Card Galleries DiscussionsEdit

Here's another suggestion... I've noticed you are doing MRD... if you go to the MRD Gallery you don't have to worry about upload rules or previously uploaded since all the links are there ready to be uploaded to... --Pcouw (My Talk Page)

You're doing a nice job... just a constructive thought... can you change your formating of MRD, MRL, SRL to the following style to match the other card galleries...

Please include the line SetGalleries in double parenthesis to add the proper template

Please format the cards like this </center>

This will allow longer named cards to not automatically roll to a new line due to the rarity.

Thanks... again doing a great job... oh BTW if you have images that are 400x580 and 1st edition (if possible), that is the most recent prefered image size. --Pcouw (My Talk Page)

 • The images may not always appear the way you expect them to... you can either Alt+F5 and try to force it but the servers may not be updated properly and you would have to wait about 24 hours some times for things to work properly. --Pcouw (My Talk Page)

ACGEdit

Your opinion is important, please give your support or opposition about the Yu-Gi-Oh! Wikia joining the Wikia ACG here. --Tyrant Slayer (Contribs) 00:56, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

RE:RE: Rainbow Dark DragonEdit

I should be thanking you for fixing the image! As for the quality, I discovered that by scanning the card at 100% then shrinking it to 50%~60% usually makes the scan appear cleaner. --Pizzaman 04:48, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

RaritiesEdit

You have no real idea what rarities are, do you? Bear in mind that some Rarities information in accurate, looking at the card helps. Rainbow Dark Dragon is a Secret Rare. Crystal Counter is an Ultra Rare. See DP06 & DP07 lists. No rarity listed there = Common. The TCG and OCG DP06/DP07 sets are not identical.--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 01:45, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

 • ... this is why we never used Red Links to decide what gets upload. I mean, you could -see- the rarities were different than the tag of what was being uploaded...--TwoTailedFox (My Talk Page) 16:31, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

Image PreferencesEdit

Hi.. I noticed you changed the PTDN gallery... please note that PNG images are prefered over JPG images and that just because someone accidently uploaded an image with GLAS instead of PTDN doesn't make it right to change it back to GLAS since it's wrong. Thanks...--Pcouw 03:00, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

ThanksEdit

I am scanning all my cards and will eventually have them all up... only 4000 to go :) There are more ScR and others to upload just haven't had the time yet. But again thanks for the positive reinforcement. --Pcouw 15:29, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

I think it's wikia display bug. Some of other uploaded images also have the same problem too. I reuploaded the image and it's work for now :) --Blackwings0605 05:39, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Re: How do I go about gaining additional privileges on this siteEdit

You would need a sysop (administrator) flag to be able to able to delete pages. There is no formal way of achieving this. Sysops are usually chosen by bureaucrats from users who are active, experienced and helpful. The best way to gain extra access is to get involved; Learn more about the wiki, editing and the community and contribute to it. -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:34, July 26, 2010 (UTC)

Stretching imagesEdit

I'm don't know what you did with the paint.net program. But your images are having too much contrast and their text is even harder to read than the original. So please don't upload them until your images are better than the original. Blackwings0605 (talk) 05:01, December 12, 2010 (UTC)

I see, maybe should be site's glitch. You're referring to those card information at bottom of the page, which was not showing like you original to see nowday? And I think thumb would do better job than frame, so it could be easily to look and read at same time. --FredCat Ta.P.F.P.J.R.W.S.Th.P.S.C. 19:56, December 21, 2010 (UTC)
I think it's a glitch. It's happening on all Wikia sites. Something similar happened a few days ago and it was fixed within a few hours. -- Deltaneos (talk) 22:08, December 21, 2010 (UTC)

RE: Hidden Arsenal 3Edit

Do you mean by gallery picture article? You want to create an article that look like this; Hidden Arsenal 2 Gallery? I suggest you to follow the one I showed you, I think it would be better if you just check it out on that page. I am pretty sure there is already one for HA03, in English only. But if you mean for different language, then you can go ahead, as HA03 is only one with English currently. --FredCat Ta.P.F.P.J.R.W.S.Th.P.S.C. 13:39, December 28, 2010 (UTC)

RE:I realize that is what the artwork page is for, however...Edit

Being a new idea, what you should do is make a page at Forum:Yu-Gi-Oh! Wiki Community Discussion to present the idea and see the response from other editors on this wikia, and if they accept or reject the idea.
Also, about the images above (File:1st Image for Question.png and File:2nd Image for Question.png)
I'm quite sure Deltaneos would prefer that any image that isn't being used on Main Space pages were to be deleted after it is used.
If you want the images to be permanent, you should either do this or upload it to an external image hosting site and link to it.

Re: Question about your Images.Edit

I really don't think I can do something about the striping or the chopped off edges. About the first one, There are some ways to remove the striping but they will only make the card's quality worse. Plus the striping is barely visible in the thumbnail used in the card's page. About the second one, you can add the edge manually but I don't think that's necessary either, as what matters most is the visibility of the card image in general. I might try to improve it but with little or no success, but thanks for pointing that out anyway. Lon3wolf (talkcontribs) 09:46, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

Inzektor DragonflyEdit

Got it, just needed to edit the card image's page. Hope that helps. ^_^ Look234 (talkcontribs) 23:28, April 13, 2012 (UTC)

 • Not trouble, when you add the {OCG-TCG card image} info to the card image's page, you've been updating the name but you also need to check the "| rarity = " field. Just check that it matches the rarity in the card image's name. That should hopefully fix it, if not let me know. ^_^ Look234 (talkcontribs) 23:46, April 13, 2012 (UTC)

Card ScansEdit

Yeah sorry about those images, they are ones I found online for now so that we at least have an image for the card in English. I have a limited budget so the cards are kinda hit a miss right now. -.- If I do get a copy of a card myself that we have a .jpg of then I will scan it in and make it a nice .png copy. ^_^ Look234 (talkcontribs) 20:45, May 3, 2012 (UTC)

RE:Re-CroppingEdit

Well you can also look through card selling sites for some. Ebay has one that wasn't there the other day, but it's only slightly less crooked. --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 21:04, May 3, 2012 (UTC)

Template:Hide in print and imagesEdit

Hello Glittersword, Hide in print is not the way to tag images with quality problems; any content provided to it still gets displayed if the image is viewed normally. In addition, per-user tagging is a very bad idea; if you'd like to maintain in your userspace a list of pages you want to keep track of, that's one thing, but using special-purpose tags that are specific to you is not maintainable or extensible. The solution here is a set of image problem and cleanup templates that provide information on what's actually wrong with the image quality, information (or links to information) on how to address said problems, and auto-categorization of images tagged with certain problems. The main tags should be for cropping, rotation, watermarks, striping, and (maybe) resolution/size (image format (PNG vs. others) for card images is a non-concern since OCG-TCG card image automatically detects, tags, and tracks non-PNG images); additional tags would be considered on a case-by-case basis. I have had such templates planned for quite some time (among a myriad other projects), but simply haven't gotten around to doing anything about it yet. ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 08:18, May 7, 2012 (UTC)

I agree with you that would be good. In a perfect situation that would be ideal. However, as you admit we DON'T have that capability as of yet. If we had the tags you are talking about I would use them. As it stands now with the Poor Image template what happens is I mark it as a poor image and I get someone telling me that they don't see anything wrong with it. or not telling me and just removing the template. I see these images being improved in stages.
Stage One: No Image (Easy to spot the problem)
Stage Two:
 • Poor image - Small blurry image that looks bad in the normal size and worse if it is enlarged.
 • Poor Image - Taken be camera with light reflection going across it.
 • Poor Image - lying on a mat
 • Poor Image - Not straight and level
(These are still relatively easy to spot with the system as it is now as these you can just use the Poor Image Template and there is no question that it IS a poor image.)
Stage Three: Adequate Image - Nice size relatively clear but with one glaring issue that keeps it from going to the next level.
Prime examples are the ones I marked with the tag. The type of problem where you can't really clean it up and make the problem go away. You need a whole new better scan. However you need to be able to tell someone in a clear concise way that "YES, this is going to work TEMPORARILY, but we still need to keep on the lookout for an even better image."
Stage Four: Great Image - We have found our permanent Image and can stop looking. Lock it in and only accept a replacement by sending it to an admin first and letting them decide if it is worth unlocking to put up a newer version.
It is going from Stage three to Stage Four that we get differences of opinion on quality and some are left on the wayside to be really forgotten about while everyone is concentrating on the new sets being released.
Sure I used it on a new set but that was because I was running a test on it and feel that most will have that tag removed from the file (by me) shortly when more people have the cards and more people submit more scans.
BTW, unless it is an extreme situation I wouldn't use this method on Ultimate Rares, Secret Rares, or Ghost Rares. the first 2 ARE made with Artifacts that even the best scan looks iffy, and the third you're lucky to get an image (of the artwork) to appear in the first place. In those cases it is most likely a wasted effort beyond Stage two and could just be handled with the poor image template.
Sure the opinion is mine on if it would warrant the additional tag but that doesn't mean it couldn't be accessed by other editors or even added by others. Most likely if someone else added it an I saw it I would probably agree that it needed a better image.
Also, if you take a look at the images I didn't tag in (Galactic Overlord - English - 1st Edition) you would probably agree that those are already at stage four.
Since so much of this site revolves around visual Image of the cards maybe you should bump those new tags up in the priority list. (Then I wouldn't have to improvise on the fly.) I admit my method is a kludge but it IS working.
Glittersword TalkContributions 19:26, May 7, 2012 (UTC)
Do you mean Poor quality? If so, you can note specific issues via the "message" parameter, e.g. - this isn't a permanent solution by any means, but it'll work until such time as a permanent solution is put in place (and you're right, that really should be a higher priority for me).
Many potential issues with image quality can be addressed by editing the image: cropping and rotation can be trivially handled by virtually any image editing program (there are even programs that allow you to crop/rotate/flip JPEG images with no loss of image quality), and the striping can be fixed with histogram manipulation (there's a page on Wikipedia that documents how to do this, but after a half-hour of searching for it, I couldn't find it... I'll have to try again later). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 22:10, May 7, 2012 (UTC)
Only problem I am seeing on the Poor Quality tag is the message does not print out in the info box for some reason. The only way to see the message is to go into edit.

Example: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/File:OverlayOwl-GAOV-EN-C-1E.jpg

Also the only type of destriping I saw when I searched was limited to Horizontal (And I assume) Vertical lines. or pages that were covered in the mathematical formulas for the algorithms. Cropping / Rotating I have no problem with myself I was just mentioning some easy types of image problems to spot for the lower end of quality problems. however if I resize the image it sometimes gets blurry (a little, but I notice it). Some Just need to be resized though or replaced such as

http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/File:PhotonStrikeBounzer-GAOV-EN-ScR-1E.jpg

As you can see on that one it is not only HUGE but it also has striping. When it is replaced though I would not delete the big image that way if someone wants it they can just download the older image. I want to make sure we get the best available images for all the cards so if and when in the future Konami decides to quit supporting the game (Heaven forbid) we will have a comprehensive library/database for the game. After all if we can't get them now what hope will there be then.

Glittersword TalkContributions 20:22, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, looking at the template again, it seems the "message" parameter isn't actually implemented, even though it's documented. I'll fix that at some point, probably.
I know for a fact that what I remember seeing discussed how to destripe even in cases with diagonal striping (it's a general-purpose technique so the direction of striping doesn't matter). I'm sure I'll stumble across it again at some point (probably when looking for something completely unrelated, knowing my luck =D ). ディノ千?!? · ☎ Dinoguy1000 21:29, May 8, 2012 (UTC)

Re-sizingEdit

I think it'd be better to wait until you find a larger images, as opposed to re-sizing them. Your upload of HieraticSealofSupremacy-GAOV-EN-C-1E.jpg actually looks worst than the original. :/ --Golden Key (talkcontribs) 19:23, May 9, 2012 (UTC)

I agree that is why it is marked as Poor Quality still and it is also the reason for the comment.

Card Artworks vs. Card GalleriesEdit

Card Galleries are meant for showing all images of a card (and its hologram manifestation in the anime, if possible). Card Artworks are only for putting 2 or more card artworks of the same card side-by-side to show the difference between them. Long story short, that's why I deleted "Card Artworks:Cemetery Change". —This unsigned comment was made by UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 01:18, September 9, 2013 (UTC)

Yeah, that's a temporary glitch that sometimes occurs. And I was busy at the moment I first replied, which is why I forgot to sign my sig, not that it's any excuse. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs)

Making Card Number or Set ID pagesEdit

When you create them, after you do #REDIRECT ........, please add a space and then put R from X. When you type out the word "from", 3 autocomplete options should appear, but if they don't, please replace the X with "card number" or "set number", depending on which page you're creating. --UltimateKuriboh (talkcontribs) 02:55, January 22, 2014 (UTC)
