The SVGs we use were designed from scratch to be approximations of the symbols; that way, we can claim that they, under fair use, are used as representations only of the image. The version 1.2 doesn't help with that: only monster card proxies can be extracted. I'm surprised that you couldn't find any high-res images: it should be noted that images are embedded in the PDF file, and you ought to find a way to extract them for best quality, not just to "take" pictures of the pages.
