In campaign mode, the player assumes the role of Yami Yugi as he competes in a Capsule Monsters tournament. His fellow competitors inclueinclude
his friends, rivals from Duelist Kingdom and Battle City, and the other Millennium Item wielders, such as [[Maximillion Pegasus]],
[[Shadi]], and [[Marik Ishtar]].
