"Zoodiac", known as "Twelve Beasts" (十二獣 Jūnishishi) in the OCG, is an archetype of Level/Rank 4 EARTH Beast-Warrior monsters that debuted in "Raging Tempest". "Master Peace, the True Dracoslayer" and "True King Lithosagym, the Disaster" appear to have a relation are related to this archetype in Duel Terminal Lore, as seen in the artworks of "Zodiac Sign" and "Zoodiac Combo", respectively.
Design
Appearance
The "Zoodiac" monsters are based on the Twelve Animals of the Chinese Zodiac, with each monster being a slightly anthropomorphized version of their respective animal. Each monster also wears an oversized gauntlet on either their left or right forearm, with which they wield their own respective weapon, and a belt marked with the Earthly Branch corresponding to the zodiac animal
Etymology
The Japanese nameof this archetype, "Jūnishishi" (十二獣), is a play pun on the terms "Jūnishi" (十二支), which refers to the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac, and "Shishi" (獣), meaning "beast". The Its English name, "Zoodiac", is a portmanteau of the words "zoo" and "zodiac".

The individual effects of the "Zoodiac" Main Deck monsters enable indirect monster searching, hand fixing, and GY recovery (for "Kataroost", "Bunnyblast", and "Ramram") if they are combined with card-destroying effects (which the archetype has through "Zoodiac Barrage" and "Zoodiac Drident").  ==Playing style==The archetype's Main strength lies in its ability to perform consistent and powerful 1-card Extra Deck monsters grants additional effect for plays off of any Beast-Warrior Xyz Monster they're attached to, ranging from protection against targeting effects, piercing battle damage, banishing opposing monster they battled, or even Summoning more monsters from the single Main Deck. The Xyz Monsters of the archetype, meanwhile, all possess variable (?) ATK/DEF, stemming from the total sum of the ATK/DEF of the "Zoodiac" monsters attached to themmonster. Furthermore, each Xyz Monster can be Xyz Summoned once every turn by using 1 Any Main Deck "Zoodiac" monster as Material or "Zoodiac" searcher (as long their names are different)e. Their Material requirements are generic, which means they can be used in other decks as wellgThe biggest strength of this archetype is their capability of starting their sequences of play with just one card (any of their monster). With the collective strength from "Ratpier", "Broadbull", "Chakanine", and "Drident", in addition of having access to cards like "Zoodiac Barrage", "Fire Formation - Tenki", and "Speedroid Terrortop" 1-card "M-X-Saber Invoker", gives them unrivaled consistency and card advantages overall, with almost no investment. Because of this, the deck doesn't require many of their Main Deck components, allowing them engine) provided immediate access to incorporate several powerful cards that either increase their redundancy (such as monster searching via "Shuffle RebornBroadbull" or , disruption via "Soul ChargeDrident"), protect their field presences (such as and conditional monster revival via "My Body as a ShieldChakanine"), or even hindering their opponents (such as . Simply going through the Hand traps, "Solemn Strike" or "Dimensional Barrier") without affecting much effects of their consistency. By incorporating "Missus RadiantBroadbull", they can also mitigate the restriction imposed by the new Master Rule 4 by providing them with power boost, recovery, and two Monster Zones to Summon their Extra Deck monsters. Because of their compact size, they can be included in several other decks (mainly just "RatpierDrident" , and "WhiptailChakanine" in with any 1 Main Deck, while at least "Broadbull" and "DridentZoodiac" monster provided a +3 in Extra Deck)card advantageWith the recent announcement of When "Ratpier" was September 2017 ListsUnlimited in TCG (and July 2017 Lists in OCG), in which "getting access to it also provided monster Zoodiac Broadbullswarming as its applied effect could be used on two different " and "Zoodiac Drident" being Forbidden and "Zoodiac RatpierXyz Monster" being Limited (in addition s to Summon 2 more copies of "Zoodiac BarrageRatpier" being also Forbidden in OCG), from the deck has lost much Deck. Going through 3 copies of their functionality (albeit their "one-card-Xyz SummonRatpier" strength still remains). In addition, and the aformentioned "Daigusto EmeralZoodiac" being Forbidden Extra Deck monsters provided a +5 in card advantage in TCG also greatly weakens their recovery aspectone turn, forcing them to rely exclusively on "Zoodiac Combo" for that purpose, which is also made less reliable due to the Limitation off of a single copy of "Ratpier". == Weaknesses ==Despite its unparalleled consistencyThe archetype lends itself to a control-based playstyle. Typically, redundancy, and speed, it"Zoodiac" Decks take advantage of the archetype's not without its weakness. Their overability to perform consistent 1-reliance on "Ratpier" makes it the prime target card plays and dedicate most of any counter-attempt cards their opponents may utilize, such as "space to Chain Disappearancestaple". "cards like Dimensional Barrierhand trap" is one of their worst enemy (and one of s instead.Due to the only ones they cannot play around)power offered by its 1-card plays, since its effect essentially leaves them without any moves during the turn it resolves. consistency provided by "Ghost Reaper & Winter CherriesZoodiac" is also deadly for this decksearchers, and its compact Main Deck requirements, especially for eliminating "Zoodiac Broadbull" (which cuts off their main source of at its peak power formed a powerful 1-card engine that can be splashed into many other Decks to provide card advantage), or swarming, and disruptions (via "Zoodiac Drident" (leaves them unable to interrupt opponent). The archetype's moves). In addition, cards like "Xyz Monsters have generic Dark Holematerial" and requirements. As such, "Interrupted Kaiju SlumberZoodiac Chakanine" can easily dismantle , who requires the deck's field presence (if no protection cards like "least number of generic My Body as a ShieldLevel4 monsters as materials (2+), can be used in other Decks to Summon other " are present)Zoodiac" Xyz monsters=== Recommended cards ===

Weaknesses
* "Dimensional Barrier" can shut down this archetype's ability to perform its 1-card plays.
* "Nibiru, the Primal Being" is one of the greatest threat of the "Zoodiac" deck, as it can shut down any Xyz stacking play by itself. As the "Zoodiac" Xyz monsters has ? ATK/DEF, a "Primal Being Token" generated by "Nibiru" will have 0 ATK/DEF provided if there are no other monster(s) on the field, rendering the player vulnerable to opponent's counterattack if they cannot find a way to get rid of the Token soon enough.
