In two cases, the card text has been changed to reflect the archetype condition. In both cases, the former names applied to video games only as they were OCG-exclusive at the time Archfiend support came out.
* Archfiend Marmot of Nefariousness (Air Marmot of Nefariousness)

* "Air Marmot of Nefariousness" was renamed to "Archfiend Marmot of Nefariousness" upon the TCG release on 2005 June 1st, and is reflected on the next video game appearance, World Championship 2006.
** First TCG release was on 2005 June 1st, with the new name.
+
* "Wicked Mirror", in contrast, was renamed to "Archfiend Mirror" in Tag Force 1, released on September 14th of the same year. It is still OCG-exclusive to this date, and has never received a reprint.
** Last appearance mentioning the former name was from Destiny Board Traveler.

** Change reflected on subsequent video game appearances starting from World Championship 2006.

* Archfiend Mirror (Wicked Mirror)

** Still OCG-exclusive to this date. Also has never appeared in another set.

** Still called "Wicked Mirror" in World Championship 2006, excluding it from the archetype.

** Name change applied since Tag Force 1, released on the same year.

To resolve this issue, Upper Deck Entertainment invented the idea of Archfiend monsters (rather than "Archfiend" monsters) as a separate category, similar to existing abilities. Due to the circumstances, they were not printed on the card but rather could only be looked up via UDE's website, which stated: "Archfiends are a special category of card. Most "Archfiend" cards can be easily identified by their name. Any card with "Archfiend" in the card name is an "Archfiend." In addition, several older cards are also considered to be "Archfiends." These cards include: followed by the above list.
